Situated in Aswan, Meshra Katto offers beachfront accommodation 23 km from Aga Khan Mausoleum and features various facilities, such as a private beach area, a garden and a bar. Lovely guesthouse with excellent location and fantastic view. Mohamed was amazing host, very kind, helpful and always available. He helped us organize visit to Philae Temple and also gave us many useful advices. The view from our balcony was priceless. The area is very peaceful and authentic, you are on the island in the real Nubian village. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. There is no better place to stay in Aswan than this. Highly recommended!

Located in the Nubian Desert on the banks of the Nile, opposite Elephantine Island, Sofitel Legend Old Cataract offers elegant rooms and suites. It features outdoor and indoor pools. My husband and I have traveled quite a bit and I can comfortably say that it is perhaps one of the most beautiful and luxurious properties we have had the pleasure to stay at. This beauty is matched by outstanding service and and gracious hospitality.

Located in Abu Simbel, less than 1 km from Abu Simbel Temples, Retac Abu Simbel Nefertari Hotel provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It sits high above Lake Nasser with beautiful panoramic views, and it’s only a two-minute ride to the Abu Simbel Temple entrance. The hotel even provides free golf buggies, which made visiting the temples so easy and relaxed. The staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely looked after. Our room was spacious, spotless, and elegantly decorated ( we also got a free upgrade). The bed was extremely comfortable, and small touches like toweling robes, complimentary drinking water, and a turn-down service made it feel really special. Everything looked brand new. The covered seating area outside our room was a lovely place to sit and read while looking out over the lake, and at night we also sat out there viewing the night sky ( great place for star gazing). The infinity pool was another highlight – the perfect place to cool off and take in the incredible views across the lake. The restaurant chef came out to meet us personally and cooked a delicious evening meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. For breakfast, we ordered fresh omelettes, which went perfectly with the selection of pastries, breads, yogurt, honey, and coffee. Staying overnight rather than doing a day trip was by far the best decision we made. It gave us the chance to enjoy the temples peacefully after the day visitors had gone and to return at sunrise, which was an unforgettable experience

Set in Abu Simbel, 1.4 km from Abu Simbel Temples, Sama Guest House offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Sama Stars Hotel seems to be a reasonably new hotel and the owner/manager, Weal, put a lot of energy into making my stay enjoyable from start to finish. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is excellent value for money. The breakfast was more than I could eat and the dinners (extra cost) were very good also. The rooms are clean and tidy but most important for me, the beds was very comfortable (not hard) and the pillows and bed linen are good quality. The shower provides plenty of hot water for my longer than average showers. People who know how noisy Cairo is, will be surprised by how quiet it is around Sama Stars. The 3 night stay gave me time to visit the Abu Simbel Temples, both during the day and in the evening for the Sound an Light Show. At my request, the hotel arranged a 4x4 trip to to see the 3 Amada site temples and the 3 Wadi Sabua temples. Sometimes you have a special moment on holiday that you cherish forever. For me, the Amada-Wadi Sabua trip is one of those. I am very grateful to Weal for organising it.

The gardens so well kept and with such a variety of flowers, trees and local birds! Lovely! Accommodation clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. Food delicious. And staff, what can we say! The highlight without a doubt, all staff from waiters to chefs to managers, they could not be more helpful, attentive and enchanting. Thank you so much everyone for making our stay so special!
