Absolutely brilliant hosts, brilliant food, lovely setting beside river, very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We loved it. The Sunday roast was amazing, the beef just melted when you cut it. Breakfast was a feast of Scottish flavours. The whole ambience was just superb. I had an absolutely delightful stay at the log cabin. Ian and Kay proved to be exceptional hosts, going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. Ian even paid us a visit shortly after our arrival, ensuring that everything was to our satisfaction and providing clear guidance on how to reach him should we require any assistance. The seclusion of these cabins is nothing short of perfect, offering serene views of the sea, with the added bonus of glimpses of Belfast's city lights twinkling in the distance during the night. The west-facing position of the cabins is a true highlight, providing us with breathtaking sunsets that felt like a daily gift from nature. What truly impressed me was the thoughtful attention to detail within the cabins themselves. They were equipped with everything one could possibly need, from reliable WIFI for staying connected to modern hot showers that added a touch of luxury to the rustic charm of the log cabin experience. In summary, my stay at this log cabin was a wonderful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle, thanks to the warm hospitality of Ian and Kay, the idyllic setting, and the well-appointed cabins. I can't wait to return for another dose of tranquility and those stunning sunsets. Highly recommended!

Featuring 4-star accommodation, Douglas House is located in Castle Douglas, 26 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club and 28 km from Dumfries and County Golf Club. We have been to Douglas House before but the new owner is so nice and she makes you feel welcome everything there was perfect for our stay thank you would definitely recommend

This bed and breakfast was a warm, cozy and quaint stay. The owners were wonderful and personable. I wish we could have stayed longer. The property is clean and the breakfast was delicious.

Set in 18 acres of private parkland, Hetland Hall Hotel serves local produce on its Scottish menu. Overlooking the Solway Firth, this hotel also has an outdoor children’s playground. Location was a bit remote but in lovely countryside, not far from the bay. We loved the room. It was big and comfortable with a small sitting area off the bedroom. Bath was lovely and well appointed and up do date technology. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent. Breakfast was good too. Close to Castle Douglas and lovely gardens near the castle. We would recommend this hotel
