Carlingford
Boasting a garden, Wildwood Lodge is situated in Carlingford in the Louth County region, 23 km from Proleek Dolmen and 24 km from Louth County Museum. The view from the room was very nice, overlooking the sea. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable. We had an electric blanket under the sheets, which made the bed so comfy and warm after a long day of hiking! There is heating in the room and bathroom as well, but the electric blanket provided extra comfort. Too bad it rained most of the time we where there!
Dundalk
Offering a bar and quiet street view, The Village Rooms is located in Dundalk, 7.4 km from Louth County Museum and 9.2 km from Proleek Dolmen. The apartment is very spacious with full kitchen so we could cook if we wanted and then lounge comfortably on the two sofas afterwards. The property is in the heart of the village and a short trip downstairs brings you into the fun and genuine atmosphere of the village pub where guests get a chance to mix with the locals. Great chippy across the way. Con is a gracious host and made us feel welcome to the B&B and to the village of Knockbridge. Come here if you want to experience real Ireland.
Stabannan
Offering a garden and garden view, Deeside Manor is located in Stabannan, 13 km from Monasterboice and 21 km from Louth County Museum. Kevin & Geraldine treated us like family they couldn't do enough for us. We stayed for a night as we were going to Harry styles in slane 20 mins away. Kevin kindly gave us a lift there to which was very much appreciated! Breakfast was lovely and their house is absolutely stunning yet so homely and the surrounding gardens were just lovely in such good weather. A little gem tucked away beside the coast. Will definitely return.

Dundalk
Situated in Dundalk, Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Resort is set within 130 acres of parkland. Fabulous stay!! A beautiful property. Our room was huge, it was so lovely to be able to rest, spread out and open our bags easily. We loved having a bath and enjoyed the space and decor of the room. The resort itself is away from the town, costing us about 15 Euros in a taxi to get into town and then another 15 Euros to come back. We decided after that to stay in the hotel and use the facilities there. We were very surprised with the prices of beer and wine in the hotel, which were pretty similar to the pubs. We enjoyed a few evenings in the bar and ate the soup and chicken wings - which were great. Breakfast was amazing too! The staff were so lovely, Paula in the bar, Jacqueline and Emily in the restaurant, as well as Tommy and Natalia. Everyone was so very friendly and we had a lot of fun while we were there. We had just finished a 3 week drive around Ireland and Northern Ireland, and were looking for somewhere to fill in 3 nights before heading back to Dublin. Very good value for money - with lovely walking opportunities as well as the chance for a steam, spa and swim in the resort.
