Bäckaskog Slott is beautifully situated between the lakes Oppmannasjön and Ivösjön. A monastery was built here in the 13th century and was later converted in to a castle in the 17th century. How could one not love sleeping in a CASTLE!? Beautiful castle, furnishings, and grounds. The staff at the front desk was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Breakfast in the stables was charming and tasty.

The apartment we stayed was very, very spacious. The wooden interior was homey. We arrived very late and the host kindly waited for us.
