Situated in Belize City, 50 km from Altun Ha, Golden Tree Hotel Belize features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. It was clean and staff were so helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and ordering food from the kitchen for dinner was easy and just as yummy. The pool area is wonderful and the wind keeps it nice and cool up there. Near Publix and other little shops. The room was great with large windows. Bed and pillows were comfy. Definitely a great place to stay and I will stay here again.

Belize -- a true melting pot reflected in its people, languages, cultures, vistas, regions and cuisines, a strong dedication in preserving its history, biodiversity, and natural wonders, a must for open minded travelers. A stunning country on the eastern coast of Central America, by renting a car, I witnessed spectacular places, including San-Ignacio, Balmonte, Cayo, Maya-Beach, Seine-Bight, Placencia, Santa-Cruz, Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, Hidden-Valley, Chan-Chich, the lush Hummingbird Highway, and Hopkins. By taking the excellent ferry system, I saw San-Pedro, the South and Secret beaches in Ambergris Caye, and bohemian Caye Caulker. And at last, I took the time to appreciate Belize City, where I stayed on 3 returns, at The Great House Inn, for unique experiences. It is always difficult to resume such a journey... here are my best memorable photography! Please do enjoy! Paul
Everyone was friendly. My stay was in the middle of downtown and every morning early morning people were on the way to work they were walking their riding bikes they were riding motorcycles they were in cars they were going to work this is a country that works. Glad for my stay
If you like physical activity--tubing, hiking--this a a great place for you to go.Belize is somehow in transition. They have "tourist-cized" many of their natural wonders into "fun" events, but they have not focused on the history. The city seems to cater to the cruise ships, a pretty awful entity, but one that can pay the bills. I had the feeling much of what I saw was a facade. This diverse country is irrevocably beautiful but, to me, it has been "Kardashianed" or is somewhere on the road to having that done to it. This is unwise, but it is what we have in this world right now. The people are beautiful, even the unscrupulous cab drivers and one young "guard" at the ferry terminal. I liked the country, but I will not return.
I love the restaurant Celebrity it's close to the Belize Museum on Regent street which was a former prison. The food is excellent. It's very easy to get around Belize city by taxi. We paid a taxi 10 BZ dollars to take us from the bus terminal to the Museum that's about 5 US. I called the chauffeur later on in the afternoon to take us to town and we were dropped at the park in the center of town. We walked around the park and sat on a chair under a tree, we visited the inner stores on Albert street. What I like about Belize, there are restrooms every where and the people are friendly. You can ask them anything they will help you out. We walked on the market on Saturday, got some hot bread by the bakery and coffee next door. I loved Altun Ha. Our guide was arranged by the guesthouse Casa de Shangri-La.
I have to say, Belize City is my least favorite part of Belize. It's dusty and messy. Maybe I should've dug deeper into everything it can offer, but I only spent a few days there. I prefer all other areas of Belize over the city.
