Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Apartmán Kollarovi is situated in České Budějovice. The apartment was super clean and modern. The kitchen is well equipped with a kettle, stove and oven, and also plates, glasses, pots - everything you would need. There is a cool balcony as well that opens on the street, but the neighborhood is actually pretty quiet, and there is a possibility to park on the roadside. You would need to provide your licence plate number to get it registered, then you'll be allowed to use the neighbourhood parkings for free. So if you sit on the balcony, chances are, you would see your own car :) Extra bonus point for having a small freezer in the fridge! Not big, but enough for a couple of things. The bed was comfy, though for my taste the pillows were a bit thick - but that is just me, I'm picky with my pillows, my boyfriend slept like a baby on the same ones. The apartment has heating and also AC, so can be used in any kind of weather. Location-wise, the apartment is abour 20 minutes walk from the old city center, which is fine for us. If you don't want to walk, you can try to go by car and park closer. In the surroundings there are big supermarkets as well - there is a big Lidl and a Billa behind it, easily accessible on foot, but also by car.

Boasting city views, HomeAwayHome by the River offers accommodation with balcony, around less than 1 km from Přemysl Otakar II Square. This lovely apartment was uncomplicated from start to finish- easy to book, easy to change a date when I made an error, easy to find, easy to enter, easy to stay and and easy to check out of. The home was extremely clean and well-equipped. We loved the added bonus of having a drip coffee machine to start our mornings. The apartment building itself is located right at the edge of a park and it was a beautiful, safe walk via a walking trail to the historic center (under 10 min and no traffic to contend with.) The owners were kind and helpful and even checked in via email to make sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this property and would happily stay here again.

Roudné is a small village near the town of České Budějovice and is extremely convenient as a destination to visit all the natural, cultural, historical and architectural sights of South Bohemia! From Roudné it is convenient to visit incredibly interesting places such as: České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Tábor, Písek, Holašovice, The State Chateau of Hluboká, Červená Lhota Castle, Orlík Castle, lake Lipno and many others.
Lovely historic town, super Xmas markets - better than Prague. Loads of great bars and several superb microbreweries as well as the world famous Budvar brewery which is well worth a tour. Great parks and loads of easy walking around the town make it a pleasure to visit. Good transport links and nearby Cesky Krumlov is a must see.
The city itself is very cute, the old center is actually not huge, but there is a nice park around it, which was home to some concerts and events at the time of our visit (early June). Not only is it a cute town in itself, it is also very well located to explore the region. Cesky Krumlov is 25-ish minutes drive away, the Lipno treetop walkway is about 1 hour. Pilsen is around 2 hours drive. There is a plethora of super cute towns and also a lot of beautiful nature and possibilities for biking and hiking in the entire area.
It's a small old town with very few things to see. It has one main square and the Black Tower which you can climb up to and see the view. Other than that, it doesn't have much to offer. I also found that it wasn't very safe at night, we even encountered a gang fight during our stay. However, it's convenient as a "base" for people who want to explore the South Bohemia region or want to do a bicycle tour and enjoy the nature around the area. But if you want to visit a nice quaint little Czech town with cobblestone streets, nice cafés/restaurants, and beautiful views, go to Cesky Krumlov.
The Christmas market was great, and the old town area is nice - just like any/most old town areas. There are some sights to see, but mid-late December isn't a good time to visit. It's a good base to do day trips from, for example Cesky Krumlov is 30 minutes by car, you can visit a zoo or castle, go hiking, etc. Be sure to check out Přemysl Otakar II Square and its surroundings, most sights are within 10 minutes of walking distance there.
I was there twice and never didn't take enough time for detailled exploring city and surroundings. Main square is really big and in neighbourhood streets there is really great choice for drinking beer or coffee, to take traditional or modern style lunch, to research historical buildings. The concentration of bars is even bigger than in Brno, Plzen or Karlovy Vary. Although, there are many sights in walking distance, prices are very reasonble and place itself is a great hub for exploring close destinations, such a Česky Krumlow (30 min), Tabor with Chocholate museum (45 min), Hluboka nad Vltavou castle (15 min), Telč (1:15 min), etc. I recommend for at least 3 days staying, peak season is summer.
