The manager’s service was beyond my expectations. Went out if his way to provide me with a lovely room that was so comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. He went above and beyond on a very busy night due to Ascot races patrons booking in. I really appreciated the care, friendliness and service provided by all of the staff while I waited for my room. I had a late checkout and the quiet and peace was amazing! The grounds were lovely and obviously the whole hotel is being taken care of and refurbished so nicely! Even the security guys were helpful and very friendly. I would love to stay there again. It has history and elegance if it’s time. Absolutely loved my stay. Thankyou all so very much Much appreciation Caroline

Parking just outside the front door. The relaxed welcome, I was expected and the welkome letter and keys were waiting for me. Dogs are genuinely welcome. Help with my luggage. I definitely recommend the pizzas. I could eat outside if I wanted. My room and bathroom were spotless. I was made to feel at home, a perfect place to relax and forget your troubles. I want to visit it again!

    Lovely village with beautiful properties, 3 pubs and a great Italian restaurant, as well as a handful of good independent shops (antiques, homewards/florist, pharmacy, convenience stores, cafes). Nice walks in the area including a castle ruin. Boat hire available on the river. Overall the perfect place to spend a few days as a base to the wider area.

    Clean and tidy with a mixture of new and old buildings and a lot of history. There are some good gentle walks. Pubic transport is not very good. Dining out can be expensive but the food and experience are worth it.
