Set amid the shops on Alton's main street "Not to be confused with Alton (the home of Alton Towers) in the Midlands" the Swan Hotel is a historical building that dates back to 1377. Comfortable beds, clean room, informative receptionist and good resturant in house.

Situated in spacious grounds, Alton House Hotel is the largest hotel in Alton featuring ample free parking and free Wi-Fi. Alton town centre is just a 5-minute walk. All of the staff that we encountered were absolutely delightful & very efficient. Having our dog with with us, the French doors straight outside made life so much easier.

It was at a convenient location for my visit, walking distance to Jane Austen house or Alton. Alternatively you can take the bus. It's cute, tiny, but has everything needed for a short stay. It was quiet during the night. The pub next to it had really good dinner and breakfast, with attentive staff and nice local people hanging out.
