Google maps puts you outside 74 Robin Hood Lane but you need to go a little further down the hill and turn right at GP surgery where the road forks to stay on Robin Hood Lane. No house number visible but number 32 next door has big visible numbers. Our takeaway delivery had the same issue trying to find the property so put a note on any takeaways.

The lodge was around 10 minutes' walk to the train station. The host is very nice and also accommodated us well. The toilet was neat as well as the room, and he offered us free dinner and breakfast. Also assisted by informing us on how best to get to the venue of our destination.

The apartment was lovely and clean, and had all that we needed. The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and the location was excellent - just a short walk from the castle and from the town centre. The communication from Dee was also excellent, thank you Dee!

Our visit to Chatham was for a Volvo Enthusiasts Club Est: 1989 Members Meet at the Chatham Historic Naval Dockyard. This is a fantastic Museum with lots to see including tours over a WW2 Royal Navy Destroyer, an ex Navy Submarine - well worth seeing and a Naval Ship built in 1878. It is also where TV's Meet the Midwife was filmed and special tours around the site are available If you have not ever visited the Dockyard well worth a trip

Went to Rochester specifically to visit the Cathedral and the Castle and was impressed with both. The old town itself was far more interesting than I imagined and the whole easily walkable. The Cathedral and Castle are next door to each other. Parking was a bit of an issue. There is a large multi story but finding a way into it with virtually no useful signage was frustrating. I was not the only car driving round in circles.

Gillingham is a bit of a scary place, it's not exactly a place to be if you are on your own, however nearby chatham and Rochester are nice places to visit. The RE museum, the dockyards and castle are nearby, worth a visit, plenty of pubs and restaurants in the same area's

Taken together, Chatham and Rochester have much to offer anyone interested in history. Chatham itself seems to be trying to modernise and improve with smart new buildings are going up near the waterfront, elsewhere it is quite dilapidated.

Rochester is a wonderful location with many attractions.

Rochester is a wonderful location with many attractions. There's the castles with fabulous views of the cathedral, town, the Medway, Strood across the river, the road & rail bridges For those interested in history & architecture, Restoration House down Crow Lane with its extensive garden will delight, the Guild Hall museum covers much of the history of Rochester, there's an art gallery, independent shops including a 2nd hand bookshop, a good number of pubs to suit all ages, many restaurants & the Elizabethan Eastgate House (worth checking in advance to see if a wedding is being held). Slightly further afield is Chatham with its historic dockyard & more general shopping. The town has connections with Charles Dickens that you won't fail to notice!

My visit was for family business, and we used the time to visit the local area, including Canterbury and Rochester, as well as walking around Gillingham. A little frustrated as Chatham Dockyard was closed to visitors. The Engineering Museum which is within walking distance was also closed on Monday, the only day we had free to visit. If visiting Canterbury with your car, BE WARNED, Car Parking is expensive, and the Park & Ride facilities are NOT clearly marked. In fact one of the Park & Ride Car Parks has closed, and the local Tourist Info were unaware. Well worth a visit to Canterbury to see the Cathedral, which has an entry free of £17 per person, but this is for unlimited visits for a year. However, DO GO TO ROCHESTER. Rochester is a wonderful City to visit. It also has a Cathedral, which has FREE entry, however you are encouraged to make a donation, and if you are able to do Gift Aid, then a cash donation in an envelope with all your details will enable the Cathedral to claim more money. Rochester also has a Castle - again, a wonderful visit, and entry including audio tapes (highly recommended) was £5.70 (concessions) The castle however is only for able bodied, as there are over 200 steps to climb. Well worth the climb though for the views. Free Guildhall Museum to visit, which again is a delight. And car parking!!! We parked in the "Short Stay" car park near the Cathedral and it was the huge sum of £3.70 for just under 5 hours. A Bargain, and especially comparing with Canterbury which was £3.50 PER HOUR

we had booked for the call the midwife tour .which i thought was ok but maybe not worth what it had cost to see. The rudeness of the traffic wardens left a lot to be desired!! disappointed after walking into Historic Rochester trying to find somewhere to eat in the evening. car park for Sainsburys store was a nightmare

I found Gillingham an interesting place. Lots of history regarding the forces. I was amazed at the work going on re. New builds. It was very clean and friendly. There appears to be a sports theme in the area. Lots of opportunities for different sports. Yes, we would revisit.
