Situated in Kushiro, within 6.5 km of Kushiro Harbor and 14 km of Kushiro City Zoo, Crane features accommodation with free bikes as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Fabulous guest house, best of my stay in Japan so far. They have thought of everything a traveller may need, a fully equipped kitchen, an expresso machine on each floor with free coffee, a laundry with a dryer, also free to use. I stayed in a single room with a bathroom just outside the door. Excellent value for money for everything you get and more than half the price of hotels in town. It's a little outside town but you can get the bus which is 5 minutes walk. There are plenty of places to eat close by and a 7-11 just 2 minutes away. They also have three bikes to rent, one electric and two normal. 1000 yen per day for the electric and 500 for standard. I rented the electric bike and had a lovely day cycling all around the marshlands and crane observatory. I saw. cranes, deer, foxes, and lots of birds. Communication was easy, and staff came by to welcome me and give the bicycle the evening before I needed it.

Offering a terrace and inner courtyard view, hororo style is located in Shimo-setsuri, 23 km from Kushiro Harbor and 23 km from Kushiro Station. This house was so well decorated with beautiful lamps and antique art touches, classical music lightly playing from a sound system and it just felt chic. The whole house is windows looking out into open meadows and bird filled trees. I wanted to live here. It was so beautiful, it was so peaceful, and again just chic. Cool lamps, nice chairs, a great layout. Beautifully made home.
