The family is absolutely wonderfull - welcoming and incredibly helpfull. The homestay lies within beautiful natural sourroundings and the small porch is great for having breakfast, dinner, etc. The family makes amazing Sri Lankan food!!
As it is situated in the beautiful Sri Lankan nature, you will need a car/ride to get there, or for the family to pick you up with TucTuc.

The host was really sweet. She made us feel comfortable. The property was quite and rustic. And the size of the room was like a football field.

Friendly host, gives good recommendations about what to do in the area. Also, he knows a lot of beautiful places like a hidden waterfall and historic temple in the jungle

We loved our home stay. It was exceptionally clean, the breakfast was substantial and very tasty and it was so peaceful. Our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating. Their sons are lovely and drove us in their own tuk tuk to anywhere we wanted to go (for a fair price).
We would love to stay again ☺️

What a place! We loved it there! Beautiful house with a super friendly and kind family. They helped us extend our stay even they were fully booked. The owner rent us his scooter and we made a nice trip to Polonnaruwa. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you for letting us stay.

Such a lovely stay in Sigiri. The family were so welcoming and probably one of the best homestays we stayed in around Sri Lanka. They were very engaging and friendly and went over an above to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was great- focused a lot around coconut because we mentioned we liked it;) Would definitely be back. Such a lovely host and family!

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya.
I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya. And no wonder such a wonderful World Heritage Site kept popping up everywhere: Test it against the massive old fortress, the gorgeous frescoes, and images taken of landscapes from the summit, and there you’ll pick one of Sri Lanka’s greatest treasures. Not an easy or casual climb but certainly one that throws panoramic views so very far worth it and lucid into history at every step. Water gardens at the bottom quite worth a visit. One has to get there at dawn to avoid numerous tourists and scorching sun. Thus, in general, Sigiriya is a combination of artistic creation, engineering work of antiquity, and a miracle of nature, and a must-see site in Sri Lanka.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.
There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience.
Highly recommend this area.

A nice hike to view a breathe taking view.
A nice hike to view a breathe taking view.
If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.
