Great place to meet other travelers and the food is so good!! Please note that there is no warm shower and no electricity during the day. It’s a 30minute (if you walk relaxed) walk to HQ but Diana can bring you as well (for a small fee at the end).

Basic but you will stay at the park a lot of the time you are in Mulu anyway. Anil is a great host and was super helpful. Also he will bring you to the park entrance and picks you up from there as you like. The view from the restaurant to the river is outstanding.

Location by the river means no shortage of water. Historically interesting as site of Royal Geographic Mulu expedition and family connections through James. James and Brenda were very helpful and accommodating. Simple but adequate rooms, resident tokay gecko, nearby cafe with best food in Mulu.

We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Mulu Marriott Resort as a base to expore Mulu. Staff was super nice, the hotel provides transport to the park office and airport pretty much around the clock. Great to relax by the pool after a hike or get a spa treatment.

Our hosts Dina and Robert made the stay memorable and personalised. They offered help including trips recommendations, meals preparation and transfer to the airport. It felt like being welcomed into their home and living with family. We even had a karaoke night! The place is kept clean and there is luggage storage. The home cook meals were made from homegrown vegetables too, they were delicious.

Our first stay prior to going to Mulu Pinnacles, we stayed in the 3 bed, fan room. It can get warm during the day.
On our return we needed to rest out aching bodies and stayed in the Aircon 3 bed room. The beds are singles and can be put together for a double bed too.
Aircon is new and works great.
Each room has a clothes rack. Towels and toilet paper provided. Excellent Breakfast was provided every morning. Often Dina asked what we wanted so it was often different. Although banana crepes are their signature breakfast.
Robert is from Mulu and it's great to see they have a business and survived after the tough COVID years. Too many foreigners go to Marriott and sadly there isn't enough support for the local businesses.

Each cave is different from another and rides to get to them on the long boats added interest and anticipation of what we would find. The Park is very organised with some guides offering more information than others. We are in our 60s, and were able to cover 3 cave excursions in the one and a half days we were there...unforgettable!

Great place to come for a jungle / caving experience.
Great place to come for a jungle / caving experience. Only requires basic fitness and moderate mobility to visit most of the show features. More strenuous/ adventurous options also exist for those who are interested/ daring!

river boat ride to the amazing caves. dont miss the bat flight. lots of walking in the mulu national park. office staff, guides are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. mulu has only 300 houses. there is no town. so the only attraction is the mulu national park, mariott hotel and homestays, cafes ( which are opened occasionally) if you want adventure, time with nature , quiet, astounding sites of caves and sheer size...come to Mulu. oh yes attractive pricing
