Mulu National Park in Mulu has a garden and a restaurant. Boasting a tour desk, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The breakfast offers à la carte, American or Asian options. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. Best feature was staying in the park and being just a few minutes walk from HQ and the cafe. We had some power issues on the second night and third day but it was dealt with expeditiously. We didn't use it but there is laundry service available.

The location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.

The room and all the house are very clean. It's located just opposite the airport (but no worries there are just few flights during the day, so they don't bother at all). Food was also delicious. AA Homestay was the best homestay I’ve ever been. The owners are very kind and excellent chefs, their fried rice, pumpkin curry and vege jungle fern were the best I’ve ever eaten. They are the most welcoming hosts I’ve ever met in Malaysia. Staying in their homestay was the highlight of the Gunung Mulu National Park.

Had a wonderful one-night stay at D Cave Homestay. The host was very kind, cooked dinner to my taste, and gave great tips for visiting Mulu. Thanks to their advice, I went to Deer Cave on the first day and saw the bat exodus before the weather turned bad. The room was comfortable with air conditioning — a very pleasant surprise!

This review is based on the situations in a remote place like Mulu. The stay was good. It's about 1-1.5 km from Mulu national park and airport, so it's in walkable location. The host Helena and Shania was supportive. The room had 3 single beds. Initially I thought it would be a dormitory type of stay. But they have multiple rooms. It is a budget homestay. They prepare dinner and lunch is you ask for. Prices are at par with Mulu park restaurant.
