Sitting directly across from a stunning mountain range is the delightful, well-managed Fyffe Country Lodge. Hosts Chris & Colin are the friendliest people we’ve met on our travels around New Zealand. It felt as though we’ve known each other for many years. The grounds are lovingly maintained. Our room, was perfect with its elegant decor and cleanliness beyond expectations. Meals were delicious and well-presented.

Lovely spacious apartment with a well decked out kitchen and cozy lounge with the big gas heater. Nice and quiet area and a very short drive into the township. I'm likely to come back here, we had a couple of nights but it's the sort of place that would be a comfortable base of operations for a week of exploring the area. The apartment's private BBQ area is a nice touch and under different circumstances I would like to have taken advantage of it. We were provided a little cot for our infant and it was a good sturdy portable jobby, felt safe for him.

The view is breathtaking 😍 ✨️ especially at the sunset and the sunrise. Absolutely loved the place!!!
There's only one thing to be aware of: The driveway was steeper than we thought and was also curved, so we could not take our boat to the top with a 2WD van and had to leave it at the bottom of the driveway-luckily was plenty of space. So, if you come on holiday with a boat, a 4WD is a must, as there's no chance of washing the engine at the marina and we couldn't find any possibilities of doing it elsewhere in Kaikoura. Other than that, it is one of the best places we stayed at!!!

Bay Cottages is set in the southern bay in Kaikoura, next to the sea. Free private parking is available on site.

Wonderful cottage, very spacious with a nice sitting area. Clean. Lovely views over the mountains. Very quiet, beach just over the road. Plenty over lovely walks. Would recommend and stay again.
