It made our arrival hassle-free. I must especially commend the warmth and hospitality of the hotel owners. We arrived on the earliest ferry, and they not only sent someone to greet us at the pier but also facilitated our early check-in, sparing us the wait until the official check-in time. The room was impressively clean and even featured a small kitchenette, which proved to be a lifesaver for preparing baby food for my little one. The thoughtful provision of a complimentary baby cot was a pleasant surprise, and the valuable tips and recommendations for exploring the island and dining options were greatly appreciated.

The kiwi batch is clean very warm and a close walk to the beach, shop and ferry terminal. The hosts were great to communicate with and very flexible. Lastly the beds are extremely comfortable 😍

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. Great place to base oneself before & after Rakiura Track tramp. Rooms are clean as are the bathrooms, lots of towels available at the showers. Food was delicious especially the local Blue Cod. Would stay there again.
