There are many aquatic activities, shows, and museums you can enjoy. If you are a water person this is your location for all water activities including diving, snorkeling and fishing. History Of Diving Museum on Islamorada Key was an amazing compilation of information on the origins and history of diving under the ocean. Eating breakfast outside at Midway Cafe is a delight.

Key colony is a great neighborhood on the keys. Love the direct access to the ocean with a boat. This is our second time staying in key colony beach. Great place to snorkel at coffins patch. Marina right there at you to fill boat up and plenty of bait stores close by as well as having two good grocery stores to shop at as well.

Nice town, lots to do besides catch fish although we are happy to eat them. Great places like Crane Hammock, Curry Hammock, Seven Mile Bridge, restauranrs, Sweet Savannahs ice cream…. Just a great place to gang out for awhile. We’ve loved it since the seventies… The waterside park at city Hall is delightful, so is kayaking almost anyplace. For a change, take the bus to Key West…you can see everything, its cheap, and you dont have to struggle with parking there.

I loved Marathon. So much to do on the island. The snorkeling trip to Sombrero Reef was the highlight of the trip and the sandbar trip was a lot of fun as well. Loved the restaurants as well as we were able to bring our catch from our fishing charter to Lazy Days for a fantastic family dinner. Marathon is perfectly located for a day trip to Key West or a trip to Islamorada to go to the Theatre of the Sea. If you love spending your days out on the water fishing or snorkeling or just being out on a boat Marathon is the place. I will definitely be going back.

We enjoy this area of Keys since it’s sort of central. Everything you need is in the area from grocery stores to restaurants. We have gone out in the past fishing from Marathon & Islamorada. Enjoy eating at the Castaways Restaurant off of 15 th street as well as getting great ice cream at Conch Custard in Marathon. We have driven down to Key West for day trips. Several beaches and parks easily accessible and short drives.

GREAT LOCATION TO EXPLORE THE KEYS. MID WAY BETWEEN THE LAND AND KEY WEST. NICE BEACHES, EVEN IF I WOULD MAYBE AVOID AUGUST, AS THE SEA WATER TEMP IS SO HIGH THAT WE PREFERRED TO DIVE IN THE HOTEL SWIMMING POOL, AND A LOT OF SEAWEED CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND ON THE BEACHES...THIS WAS THE SAME IN MARATHON AS WELL AS KEY WEST.
