The staff were exceptional. All - from senior management downwards. The drivers were particularly good and impressed us with their skills on difficult roads.

First of all, "Sam, Mike and Lena, thank you very much!!"
It was a very very beautiful experience.
Also, it was a very different experience than other coutries.
I stayed here solo for 3 nights and wished I could have stayed longer.
If you are going to Tanna Island, I highly recommend staying here.
I stayed in a unique room which was on the top of tree and I enjoyed it!!
At the time, the bungalow was under renovation and there were no guests staying there, but the view from the balcony at the bungalow room was so beautiful that I spent a long time looking at the view from the balcony.
So both the treetop rooms and the bungalow rooms are great!

I traveled in March 2025, but due to issues with the Vanuatu government, it was difficult to get a plane ticket to Tanna Island.
If you're in the same situation, you can request a ticket by sending an email from the Air Vanuatu website.

The people in Vanuatu are very kind and friendly, the volcanoes are beautiful (I have been on volcano tours 4 times), and the jungle is not too buggy if you bring bug spray, so I would definitely recommend a trip here.

Phillip and Suzanne are wonderful hosts. They made sure we had everything we need for a comfortable stay. Since we are vegetarians and had informed them about it beforehand, Suzanne took the effort to prepare us really tasty and healthy food using local veggies. Phillip accompanied us to a custom dance show at Imayo village and shared stories of the island and the people in the villages.
The proximity to Mt Yasur and the experience of staying in a tree house with the view of the mountain was exceptional!! Highly recommend staying with this lovely family!!

We had a wonderful time with Morsen, Susi and the rest of the family. We got to experience true island hospitality and kindness that went above our expectations. Morsen helped us arrange a volcano tour and all other transfers (riding like the locals, on the back of pickups!), and Susi recommended a walk to their local waterfalls and the community's kastom dance. Make sure you bring enough cash as there are so many awesome trips and activities to spend it on.
We were treated by generous and delicious meals and learnt how to prepare local dishes. Our bungalow was comfortable and had a beautiful view over Mt Yasur. We loved learning local games from the children too and getting to spend time with them. It was a true slice of Tanna paradise and community life.

Charlie is a very good host , knows everyone on the island and can arrange , tours , flights to accomodate any of your needs . He and his family were so hospitable , it was the highlight of my stay on Tanna to stay with them , they have a beautiful beach just 10min walk which the village children love to play in , the water is crystal clear . I love the hut it’s a tradition style and the food was beautiful , organic and fresh which his wife makes over traditional wood fire . I highly recommend staying with Charlie and using his tours . Not to forget Tom his driver who knows his stuff when it comes to four wheel driving through the volcanic ash plains and rivers to get to the top of the volcano . ( Charlie is a math teacher at the village school , supplies are limited on the island so recommend brining some stationary , pens , crayons , books ect )

We had the most wonderful time with John, Véronique, Becky and John-Marc. They went out of their way to make it such a special holiday for us.
My husband and I went there for one week and every day we discovered more of the island, the people and how they live. John can arrange every activity you want and we could decide that spontaneously in the morning. We went to the volcanoe, to the Yakel tribe, to a local english school, to the village nearby, to the local market and even cooked Simboro and Laplap with them. John also accompanied us on every trip and gave us additional informations and he even speaks the language clik, so he could also communicate with the people of the Yakel tribe. Every evening, after dinner, John made a fire at the nearby fireplace to enjoy the rest of the evening.
When you want to see the real Tanna you definitely have to go to this place.

I couldn’t wait to write this review as soon as I returned to Sydney. Robort and his family were incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted me in arranging all my trips, including how to get to the treehouse, transportation to the airport, booking flight tickets, visiting the volcano, and even took me to the celebration. When I didn’t have enough cash to buy a ticket, Robort kindly helped me cover 600 Vatu—I’m truly grateful for that. His daughters were also adorable and guided me through the local tribal culture. They were all very patient.
The condition of the treehouse was better than I expected. While it’s inevitable to see some small bugs, I didn’t encounter any rats. The treehouse is located right opposite the entrance to the volcano, just a two-minute walk to the ticket office—very convenient.
