After a few minor misunderstandings at the beginning, we were warmly welcomed into this little corner of paradise just outside Colombo. Thanks to Chandrika, a truly wonderful host, we immediately felt at home. We are a family of four, and each of us had a perfectly furnished private bedroom — a real comfort during our stay. The apartment is beautifully maintained with great attention to detail. The residence itself is safe, with guards at the entrance, and offers excellent facilities: a beautiful swimming pool and a tennis court, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although slightly outside the city center, tuk-tuks made it easy and convenient to reach everything we needed. Breakfast, prepared daily by Chandrika, was always delicious, generous, and varied — a real highlight of our stay. In short, this place is not only worth trying once, but definitely worth coming back to. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful stay at Alakamandava spending 4 nights here at the beginning and end of a 2 week holiday. The beautiful apartment and location is peaceful and perfect to relax and unwind after a long flight, yet a short tuk tuk ride away from Colombo City. The hosts Dharshana and Bhagya ensure that you have everything you need, and the breakfast and meal choices were superb, really enjoyed the Sri Lankan options (although I had to Google some things, and there's also Pasta and Pizza etc.. As a solo traveller I felt completely safe here, it's very homely and so many pretty terraces to sit and look over the neighbourhood. I enjoyed watching the tree Squirells, and many different birds.. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Sri Lanka.

It has a washing machine that help us very much. Some kitchen cleaning products were provided. Bathrooms - large, with hot, powerful showers. Small toiletries (shower gel and soap) were provided. We absolutely love our time here! This place is pretty wonderful. We adore the layout of the property. The extra seating and kitchen area added a lovely touch to the space.The decor is stunning. I can tell a lot of time and work was put into this place! The linens and towels are of good quality. The handpainted murals add a great touch to the place. The owner is extremely helpful! Very convenient secure location. Well maintained. Had all the utensils needed including a toaster, kettle, Microwave, hand mixer and a stick vacuum.. Ideal for a small expatriate Sri Lankan family. Walking distance to Cargill's supermarket and high level road. Had AU/NZ power socket adaptors so that we could use our phone chargers and laptops. Great quiet swimming pool not crowded and can use as your own private pool.
