I cannot describe with words how wonderful this town is, a true hidden gem of Gran Canaria. The house Las Velas is in a perfect position in the town, and the view from the windows is just something astonishing. It went far beyond my expectations and be sure that when I will return in this island, I will stay some days there again. The owners are simply amazing too and helped me in a moment of need. Everything was perfect in the apartment. Apartment is newly renovated and looks like freshly build. It has 2 bedrooms so it's perfectly suits for the family with kids or group of friends. Apartment also quite big. The host (Paco) met us, showed everything and explain the apartment rules. Apartment has underground parking 2 minutes walk from the apartment so you don't search for a parking near other houses which is over occupied all the time. Apartment has swimming gears. Paco prepared beer, wine and cake. Also there was a plenty of fruits on the table. The beach is in from of the apartment but sand itself looks like a dust and it's very sticky. For checkout we left key in the apartment and notified the host.

I've been to the city a lot of times since I did my student exchange there. If you want to stay in Las Palmas, the area around La Cicer, where the flat is located, is one of the best spots, especially if you are into surfing. There is a Spar right out on the street, and a shopping centre at a 5 min walking distance. If you don't mind walking, you can walk along the beach to the upper part of Las Canteras, where the beach is more suitable for swimming, Santa Catalina park, etc. Free parking might be a challenge if you don't know how to navigate the mostly one-way streets, but it is possible. There are a few parking garages too, although they are not the cheapest.
