Altenau is a very beautiful village. we walked all the way to the B&B from Clausthal-Zellerfeld on a beautiful hiking route. B&B Orchidee is very cozy and the beds were really comfortable which is very important after a long walk up hill😌 Breakfeast was good and the house is just so Homey🏠 (maybe also the fact that it is a dutch B&B, we didn't know that when booking!) Ther area of restaurants for dinner is close by and there is a great greek restaurant and also a great backery just around the conrner (follow the aroma!) to buy some lunch for the road.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Extremely helpful host, who also spoke English. The accommodation is very spacious, nicely decorated and has everything you could want. The location is quiet, with a large garden and plenty of parking space. This is the best accommodation of its type I have stayed in from this site.
