The location was excellent -- charming village -- lovely for walking on the beach -- excellent breakfast -- room both comfortable and elegant -- and the owner, Harvey, couldn't have been more gracious or helpful. His place has my highest recommendation.

(as Harry Potter fans: pure loveliness, respect and fun intended). We, the Belgian family Sam, Lieselotte, Bess, Manou and spare Clarissa, want to express our gratitude to the Mastress of the house, who, without any ado or thinking, offered to be Road Runner with 5 tagalongs and their luggage, while they were desperately waiting for the minivan Taxi who was a no-show. With 2 minutes to spare, she became our heroine of the week, making sure we could hop on the train and swarm off to our next Harry Potter adventure in Oxford! Great room, wonderful breakfast, with huge choice. Lovely welcoming staff, who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Dog friendly, they even provided bowls for her food and water.

Guesthouse was only a few minutes walk from city centre and from the castle and gardens. The room was clean, cozy, and overall lovely. The host (Nicola) was super kind and accommodating. Would definitely rebook if revisiting Alnwick!

I think that this place had the best of both worlds. The friendliness of a B+B, just the right amount but with the independence of a hotel. The rooms are a good size and the location is perfect.
