We usually stay at hotels so we're a bit apprehensive but had a much nicer experience staying here. Michael was a great host very warm, welcoming, kind and put me and my 2 kids (5, 7 year old) at ease felt like we were staying with a good friend or family. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and we had all the facilities we could want. We will all definitely stay again when we return to complete our climb up Croagh Patrick. I usually don't like B&Bs but after staying at Bertra, my girlfriend and I are already planning another trip here. Margaret is the best hostess I've ever experienced, we instantly felt at home and our stay was completely perfect. While the weather was less than ideal, the proximity to the beach meant we could still enjoy a nice (albeit windy!) walk. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Absolutely gorgeous location with views of the mountains as we stayed in the first room on the left. The host was fantastic and very welcoming and went above and beyond that we had a good breakfast and a sandwich to take with us.
