The owners are such a nice couple, very kind. We really enjoyed our days at hostel+cafe. The place is beautiful, very clean and confortable. The food was very tasty, Japanese traditional breakfast. We strongly recommend it.

Our stay at this incredible Japanese house was nothing short of a dream. This beautifully renovated traditional home, built by the owner's ancestors probably 150 years ago and renovated thoughtfully and lovingly by the owner recently. It offers lovely gardens and breathtaking views of Mount Aso and is meticulously maintained to the highest standards. Each room exudes the charm and character of a traditional Japanese palace, while also providing all modern amenities.The onsen is an indulgent treat, and the professional kitchen, sound and home cinema systems, barbecue house, and karaoke house added to the exceptional experience. We opted for the barbecue on two of our three nights, and the food was world-class, prepared with love and care by the owner, his wife, and the property manager.We felt like we were in a dream and wished we could have stayed much longer. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay! Yoshio, Sumie, and Yuji you are the best!

Our stay was perfect! We decided to enjoy the beauty of Aso a bit longer and booked the house quite late, but everything went great. The host was very kind and communicated with us in English. When we arrived, it felt like visiting parents in a cozy country home — we felt so comfortable. And the breakfast was delicious! Great communication, and the owner was friendly and very accommodating. We had some questions about the check in time, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. The location is great, about a 15 minute walk to the Gorge, and about 5 minutes drive to the town and supermarkets. There is also an amazing restaurant right next door. The accomodation comes with a parking space which is very helpful. We got the whole place to ourselves, and it was very spacious. Our stay was during the winter, and the accomodation includes a heater and air conditioning which made our stay very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen is well equipped and has good hot water and pressure. It was a wonderful experience!

The omusubi guesthouse is a perfect destination if you want to explore Kyushu! We enjoyed the shared spaces and sleeping on the tatami mats. Rie was really friendly and helpful, she made a booking for us at the local restaurant and helped when I got sick. The house has a relaxed atmosphere and you can play Mario on a vintage Nintendo.

We loved our stay at Wakka! We were greeted by the friendly couple and Akira the cat :) Even though we were early we could check in. The house was beautiful and cozy with lovely big windows to the mountains. It was super clean and well planned, so we could easily stay four people. The kind hostess gave us tips about nearby supermarket, so we coule buy food and eat at the outdor table :) When we left we were offerer homemade onigiri! We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

Such an amazing place with an excellent view of the mountain range. It's in a lovely quiet area that is still close to a lot of the main tourist areas if you are driving. Plenty of facilities that help you make it into a little home away from home and the host was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely be staying here again and bringing the family as it is big enough for many people to stay.
