My friend and I came to Matsue for holiday, and we had a great time staying here! Emi-san was a lovely host and was very attentive to our needs! She gave us many recommendations on what to do in the area that really made our trip!! The location is great as it is near the castle and boat tours. It was snowing when we went, but the Kian was easily accessible through public transport! The room itself was super clean and comfortable. The bathrooms and common areas were also kept very clean. We had a lovely time in Matsue, and enjoyed getting to come back to our cozy room at the end of a long day!

There is no onsen in this hotel, we went there one year ago. And for covid reasons, the onsen bath was out of order. This time, October 2022, we stayed 5 nights, the hotel was fully booked every night, and still... no onsen ! Actually, it was my main purpose to stay in this hotel, I saw they were advertising everywhere as " onsen hotel " on google map, hotel sites, everywhere, but once check in... no onsen ! so next time i ll book another place.

Jock, the host, was awesome. He communicated well before check in, and helped set us up when we arrived. I loved that the parking space is right in front of the house. it felt like staying at home instead of a hostel! The building painting and big fern helped to easily identify the house in the pouring rain! the main bedroom, living room and shower room and nice and clean! He’s still renovating so I bet it keeps getting better and better! jock is super friendly and welcoming. Definitely I’d stay again! I was recommended this place to begin with!

I enjoyed how the owner was very nice and helpful in making our experience legendary. Yugi( the owner) is one of those people who will drop things to help make people's experiences awesome. I enjoyed the authentic sleeping on tatami floor with futons in a traditional room with a lot of food options nearby for us to consume that night. it felt very safe and enjoyable as a whole and stuff
