I had an amazing stay 🌿 The cabins are beautifully designed, super cozy, and offer breathtaking mountain views. 🏔️ It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. It’s just a 20-minute walk to the upper waterfall, and you can reach the lower waterfall by motorbike – both are absolutely stunning! 💦✨ I also went on two unforgettable hikes in the area, surrounded by incredible nature. 🥾 The hosts were so kind and attentive, always making sure everything was perfect. 💛 The only downside was that the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but honestly, that’s a small issue compared to everything else. Highly recommend this place and would love to come back! 🌸

Best home stay in Sri Lanka. Room very comfortable and clean. The family was very welcoming and helpfull. The location is near the Buduruwagala temple and ellawala waterfalls.

The room was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were delightful, extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely return.

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

We had the most perfect two nights at Hapu Tales. Muni goes above and beyond as a host, and her team put so much effort into making it a relaxing and comfortable place to stay; every detail has been thought of and the team were so helpful and friendly, we really felt like we were staying with friends. We had all of our meals in and the food was brilliant, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine with lots of flavour. The location is brilliant for exploring the beautiful surrounding sites but definitely make sure you stay long enough to take the time to relax by the pool or on the terrace with the breathtaking views. We stayed two nights and were sad to leave - it’s the perfect place to recharge and relax.

The staff were unbelievable—warm, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and unforgettable. Every aspect of our experience was mind-blowing—the food, hospitality, location, and rooms were nothing short of perfection. The attention to detail and the level of comfort provided made us feel like we were in a true oasis. We were blown away by the level of care and excellence, and we cannot recommend this place enough. If you're looking for an extraordinary experience, this is the place to stay. Would recommend to everybody!

very friendly family that immediately takes you in and gives you the feeling your not only a guest. everybody was super helpful in organizing whatever u want to do and give the best recommendations. also the food was really authentic and good, location is just superb, located surrounded by tea plantations and not much else

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They served us delicious & authentic food in great quantities. You can stay there like your own home, there's no one to disturb you. This place best suits groups who want to relax and have fun. The restaurant is still under construction but the view from it is enthralling.

We had a very pleasant stay. The location is very close to town, within walking distance to the railway station. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. The prices are very reasonable, offering excellent rooms at an affordable rate.and friendly staff ..
