We came to Merzouga for an overnight stay at a desert camp and added this stop for an extra night beforehand—which turned out to be perfect for a little rest in the middle of our road trip. There’s free parking, and we were able to park our car right in front of our room entrance, which was super convenient. The property is within walking distance of the dunes, and there’s a small supermarket about 4 minutes away by car. We really enjoyed lounging by the pool. The water was quite cold (we visited in late April), but with the heat outside, it was actually perfect for cooling off. We loved our room—it looked just like in the photos. It was very clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed, a mirror, and hangers for clothes. Even though it was hot outside, the room stayed pleasantly cool. We booked dinner for 130 DH (around 13€) per person), and both dinner and breakfast were really good. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind—we were even allowed to stay in the pool area after checkout, which we really appreciated. You could easily stay even 2 nights or more if you’re looking to unwind—this place is truly a gem.

I can definitely recommend this desert camp which is, I guess, a midrange option in Erg Chebbi but with an excellent value for money. We stayed two nights which i wholeheartedly recommend if you have time. The staff are awesome and friendly, the meals are very tasty, the bathroom is clean and always available, sandboarding is available for free. We rode camels on the way there and took a 4X4 on the way back and an took an interesting 3 hour tour to the nomad village and other interesting local sights. There are even lots of animals from cats to goats which makes it super interesting for children.

We loved our stay here! The riad is right on the edge of the dunes, making it perfect for sunset walks and incredible photo opportunities. We were warmly welcomed and really well looked after throughout our stay. The hosts gave us great tips on what to do in Merzouga and helped make everything easy. The food was amazing so definitely have dinner here. Our room was absolutely huge, beautifully decorated, cool, and spotless. It was the perfect place to stay in Merzouga!

Its such a great place near sand dunes, we had a great time there with Mohammed and his son Mhammed, they are very friendly and a amazing people we have ever met in Morocco. Hopefully to visit Hotel La Liberte Merzouga again. Thank you so much!

An awesome location with views of a gorgeous oasis and the Sahara dunes. The large pool is a perfect balm in the heat of summer. The staff were such great hosts, including making us dinner when we arrived late at night and even taking us go a Moroccan sand bath, which was a really unique and awesome experience! Our stay at the desert camp was absolutely unforgettable Nestled among the stunning sand dunes the location was breathtaking and serene. The camp was well maintained, clean, and beautifully designed to reflect the authentic desert experience. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The evening under the stars was magical complete with traditional music, delicious local cuisine, and a cozy campfire. The camel ride at sunset was a highlight, offering panoramic views of the golden dunes. Comfortable tents, excellent service, and a peaceful atmosphere made this a truly great stay. Highly recommended
