This 17th century, luxury, boutique hotel is the only 4-star hotel in the centre of Lancaster, and is superbly situated in the heart of the city centre.

The hotel was originally built in the 17th century and is the oldest bar/hotel still operating in Lancaster. With luxurious rooms and comfortable furnishings, the hotel is an ideal base for an upmarket stay in the city. I think that the pub and inn have lots of local charm. It is fun to stay around there. The bed was also extremely comfortable. I look forward to coming back in the future!

At the bed and breakfast, the units come with a desk, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. A balcony with quiet street views is offered in each unit. The units are equipped with heating facilities. My wife and I only had one night's stay in Preston. However we were fortunate to have booked to stay at East Cliff, and we had a very nice visit. East Cliff was different from the other 28 accommodation places we have stayed in on our current trip around Europe and the UK. It is more of a traditional bed and breakfast in a beautifully renovated home. David, the host, was very helpful in terms of communication and directions. He allowed us to check in early to fit in with our arrival by train. David lives in the home and he welcomes just a few guests at a time. In our case, one other guest, who had stayed previously. It was good to be able to interact with this guest, and our host. We were delighted with the excellent accommodation, which included a filling breakfast in the morning. To top it off David even cooked and packed us some extra pastries to take with us on our onward journey. He is a genuinely caring and helpful host. David shared suggestions on places to visit during our short stay. East Cliff is handy to the Preston railway station, as well the town centre, restaurants, shops, parks, etc. We definitely recommend East Cliff if you plan to visit Preston.
