We stayed one night and the owners were wonderful. They answered questions and gave honest recommendations. We arrived a bit late but they were nothing but gracious. Breakfast was good. We came to this area to visit the Chained Library. They made some recommendations of other things to see and checked hours to ensure that everything would be open for us. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed the views from our little deck in front of our room. Would absolutely stay again!

The Skreen experience was absolutely amazing from the buildings and gardens to the "can't do enough to make your stay incredibly relaxing and enjoyable" owner. The room we stayed in, as are all rooms, immaculate and luxuriously decorated. A delicious breakfast was available and it had a comprehensive choice. We would fully recommend staying in this accommodation. The windows were also easy to open and close and there was free parking.

Fiona, James, and their pets were as inviting as they come. We felt like family for the evening. The breakfast was divine. Everything about this property blew us away and the price was quite reasonable as well.

Pen-y-cae
The units at the inn come with a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. The Ancient Briton provides certain units with mountain views, and all rooms are fitted with a kettle. The Ancient Briton was one of the best B&Bs we stayed at during our 2.5-week trip through the UK. The staff, rooms, food, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The building is old but tastefully refurbished. While some stairways are narrow and dim (a bit of a challenge with luggage), the rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and even featured unique plaster ceiling designs that gave them real character. The staff was outstanding. The woman who managed breakfast each morning (I wish I remembered her name) was especially wonderful—warm, attentive, and full of local tips. Thanks to her, we discovered the Red Kite Feeding Station in Llanddeusant, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The pub downstairs is lively and welcoming, with excellent food and a friendly mix of locals. It does get busy in the evenings, but even as a party of six, we were always accommodated.

Montgomery
At the bed and breakfast, every unit is equipped with a desk. There is a private bathroom with bath in every unit, along with bathrobes, slippers and a hair dryer. At the bed and breakfast, units have bed linen and towels. I was encouraged by the previous reviews, which consistently hit the top. However, I was mindful that reviews can rely on how people are feeling on the day. Well, all my err of caution was blown out of the water! This is the Nadia Comeneci of B&B, perfect 10's in everything. Came away feeling on top of the world. Thank you!

The bedroom was beautifully furnished with a private bathroom with a clawfoot bath. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful. The owners were approachable and very helpful. Good breakfast range. I particularly enjoyed the quality of the fresh fruit, bread and welsh cakes and quality local produce. Nice touch to have a cafetiere in the bedroom with fresh coffee and a jar of cookies. There are nice communal spaces downstairs for those staying to use.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable bed, enjoyed our stay very much. Great location for touring the beautiful area.Paul and Laura very welcoming great hosts.Would like to revisit.
Excellent breakfast , nice Lounge area to sit in the evening if you didn't want to stay in the room. We were given access to the covered area to put our 3 motorcycles under which was greatly appreciated. Comfy Beds , clean bathroom, great location in a quiet side street very near the town centre, wifi worked well even in our loft room
Great location on the high street and near everything which was really convenient. Cosy feel to flat - especially liked the decor in the bedroom. Private, secure & quiet flat with everything we needed both in the flat & on our doorstep. The host send an informative & helpful email prior to our stay.
Great location, right by the station and a short walk to the centre of town which has good shops, pubs and quaint antique and book shops. The property is very charming with an eclectic common room and good shared facilities. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, warm and cozy. Communicative hosts. Great access to the CAT centre with the bus stop close by.
Charming hosts of an elegant house beautifully decorated, comfortable and well appointed - it has the wow factor. It's situated in Clyro, a quiet, quaint village roughly 20 minutes walk away from Hay-on-Wye. Breakfast was a delight, and they served a tasty vegetarian, gluten-free breakfast for my daughter.
Staff really friendly, excellent breakfast and a great location. Also very quiet and secure parking. Family room was more than adequate for three.
