Great location on the way to Drake Bay. Nice an comfortable with AC in the whole house. Well equipped kitchen. But most of all, very lovely hosts who can even help with transportation to Drake Bay and tours.

Hotel Cocodrilo was everything i expected and more. Our room was upgraded upon arrival which was unexpected but very generous and appreciated. Unfortunately we only stayed very briefly as it was a quick turnaround in our travel plans between locations (Drake Bay and Montezuma). The pool was enjoyed by all as a different pace to the salty ocean waves. I basked in the glorious AC for a night as a respite from the fans and humidity. Stephany was an absolute wonderful host. I wish we were able to stay for breakfast, but the early morning coffee was much appreciated. You can walk from Sierpe (we did with fully loaded backpacks!) but the short taxi ride from the boat launch may appreciated. Bring cash to pay for your stay! If I ever return to CR and am down this way I would definitely stay here again no question.

Wow... Staying at La Muñequita Lodge is so much more than just somewhere to sleep. It´s like entering a new, exciting, relaxing, friendly world - with a lot of animals, exotic trees and flowers. The hosts are superfriendly and helpful. The house was spectacular. Basic in one way, but exclusive in another. One detail is that I really loved the wooden floor. So soft for your bare feet. Delicious breakfast and dinner. It was very interesting to hear the hosts history of how they ended up here, and take part of their future plans for their small business. We could safely park our rental car here while we spent three days in Drake Bay. It felt much better than park it by the harbour. The hosts really have big hearts and you leave with a better belief for the humanity. I can strongly recommend to stay here. I will be jealous of everyone of you that will.

The location was remote which made it so special, quiet and enjoyable. The home was immaculate and very comfortable. The facilities at the site were exceptional (swimming pool, ping pong, hiking trails, community garden...)

We stayed here as need a stop before going on to Drake. The staff & bbq were so lovely. the rooms perfect for a stop over & great to be in a local non tourist town in CR. Do try this place , super cute , great food - Top chef & again lovey staff.

The stunning location, set literally at the end of 20+ km of unpaved road, on its own lagoon, a few metres from the ocean, with only the sounds of the birds and frogs to disturb the peace. Our stay at Jungle Retreat was truly magical. The house is stunning, and the location is unique. It’s truly a retreat with no sounds other than toucans, crickets, and macaws. You can spend days there without encountering another person or seeing any cars. From the house’s veranda, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea, with incredible sunrises. About 100 meters from the house, there’s a practically private, paradisiacal beach. The sea is very warm, with gentle waves, making it perfect for peaceful swimming. The house is very spacious and offers great privacy for two couples. The common areas and the well-equipped kitchen are incredibly enjoyable. The nearest house belongs to the caretakers, Elena and Julio, who were incredibly hospitable and always willing to help. There’s no hot water in the bathrooms, but it really wasn’t necessary. The pool was clean and well-maintained, with a continuous flow of spring water keeping it fresh and at a comfortable temperature. The house has a Starlink connection that works wonderfully. There’s no air conditioning, but the fans were sufficient, and at night, we slept very comfortably. The driveway from the main road to the house is about 300 meters and can be a bit challenging if the car has low clearance—I recommend using a high-clearance vehicle, ideally a 4x4. A few kilometers toward Puerto Jiménez, there’s a supermarket where you can buy essentials and food. Our experience at Jungle Retreat was wonderful, and the name suits it perfectly
