The room was very spacious, with a complete wardrobe. It even had a drawer with a key, so you can keep your valuables safe. The location was in a characteristic place of the city, which was what I was looking for. The hosts were so kind, accommodating my needs and helping with everything. There were no staff at check-in, but instead I pressed a buzzer and a lovely caretaker lady came to take me to my room. The room was very simple but the TV and A/C worked well. There was no hot water, but the area was so hot, that it wasn't needed. I don't really understand the significance of "Syariah", but the hotel seemed the same as any other. Tea and coffee making facilities were outside the room in a little communal area. The ferry crossing is walking distance.

This place shouldn't be called a homestay, its more of a hotel. Very nice facilities and rooms, the upstairs balcony is nice for chuffing a couple darts at any time of the day or night. Staff are good dudes and super friendly, although they don't have great English what can you expect in Banyuwangi. Easy enough to just use translation apps to get the info across. Good location close to the mosque so you get to hear the CTP.

The host was lovely, we received complementary breakfast and there was free coffee and tea. The air con was good, bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space. We booked the Mt Ijen tour through Thalia which was great and simple to book.
