Casetta Castelvecchio was incredible! Perfect for exploring the neighboring towns and cities. Quiet at night, but a 10 minute walk into town to the bustling piazzas, cafes and restaurants. Breakfast ticket to a local cafe in town with the best granita and brioche - typical Sicilian breakfast. Apartment was impeccably clean. I extended my stay a few days because I loved it so much. Easy with a car - free parking is a two-minute walk from the apartment and safe. The hosts were always available by phone or message and sent me many free things happening in town - concerts, music - as well as recommendations. I have never stayed in an apartment so clean yet personal - you feel Sicily all around you. Thank you so much for a great stay! If you want to live like the locals, stay here.

Fantastic location in this interesting village. Property was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed especially washing machine and dryer. Owners were lovely and helpful. There are some amazing restaurants in this village. Would recommend a visit.

Breakfast was not included but provided free of charge all the same. The kitchen was great and fully furnished. It also included a wooden oven decorated with beautiful Sicilian tiles. There were both an espresso machine and a traditional mocha. And of course anything that could be needed in a kitchen. The hosts are fantastic, really lovely people. Best experience in life! And I am a compulsive traveller. Thank you!

This is a super place to stay. Fantastic breakfast, with organic eggs from the owner Chiara's farm, yogurt, fruit, muesli and lots more. Chiara leaves a fridge in the breakfast room packed with home-made goodies - tiramisù, cannoli siciliani, torta di cioccolata....in fact, a new cake appeared every day we were staying there. Next to the breakfast room there's a little terrace which is a pleasant place to sit. There are two bikes available for hire (a mountain bike and an electric bike). Our room was furnished in a simple retro/chic/eco style. The location is right in the centre of town, 2 minutes walk from a bakery and small greengrocer where we bought bread and fruit etc for lunch.

We stayed at Baglio Calanchi for 6 nights. We truly felt at home due to Giancarlo’s hospitality. Giancarlo gave us lots of recommendations for activities. From Baglio Calanchi, you can (by car) easily discover the provinces Ragusa and Syracuse. We especially liked hiking Cavagrande and hiking Riservata Vindicari. A longer stay like we did (4+ nights) is perfect to explore more than just the typical sights such as Noto and Syracuse. We enjoyed the elaborate breakfasts Giancarlo prepared every morning and a few very romantic dinners he organised for us. A very special experience you’ll probably find nowhere else. Furthermore, the pool area is perfect after a day of visiting towns and hiking. It’s a large pool and it’s relaxed since Baglio Calanchi offers just two guest rooms. All in all, highly recommended! We will definitely come back here if we come back to Sicily someday.

    We loved everything about this accommodation. We particularly enjoyed the warm welcome of the owner, Paolo, a kind, helpful and knowledgeable individual, who even took us and our friends for sailing with his boat around the coast of Siracusa! The location of the apartment is perfect, just in the heart of this traditional village on the mountains of Sicily. Beautiful decoration, clean, BrandNew and functional with attention to detail. We strongly recommend this accommodation, we ll be surely coming back!
