We explored this small pleasant village, and took hikes into the forest, what magnificent nature! The host is truly welcoming, we received a home-made dinner and breakfast, and had a chance to chat with other travellers. Though the space is not that big, the set-up and decoration is quite smart. The room is clean and cozy to let me relax completely after exhausting hiking. The room is new and clean. Ike-san speaks good English and Mandarin and enjoys conversations with guests. The cooking is fun. Is also just a lovely human. The accommodation is in the most gorgeous place, because it was not in a central location. Simon works very hard to shuttle his guests to and from Tanabe and the trailhead. Simon was so helpful with information about the Kumano Kodo. He helped me figure out a new plan for my hike the next day to work around the weather.
