There’s so much to like about this place- the setting is stunning with magnificent views all around, from the room, from your bed, the terrace, the pool. We really enjoyed the infinity pool. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. It’s located in a quiet, peaceful setting and relatively close to great hiking and things to do/see. Finally, Jorge was a wonderful and welcoming host with excellent recommendations.

Beautiful property with a view of the ocean. Set in the mountains away from the city - great get away. The apartment is huge and has everything you would need. The hosts Carlos and his wife were incredible and couldn’t do more to help us with our stay and recommend places of interest.

The location was perfect for me with the beautiful view of the ocean. It is a small house - very private and even with the very high temperatures outside - the house was comfortable. This is the place for people who are looking for a quiet place with fresh air and starry nights. You need to rent a car if you want to choose this place. The owner was very nice, as a welcome gift we received some fruits from his garden and a bottle of wine.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Sara and John's place with my boyfriend, and I must say, the hosts were truly extraordinary. Not only did they provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but they also left a lasting impression with their incredible warmth, welcoming spirit, and fascinating stories. From the moment we arrived, they greeted us with open arms, creating an immediate sense of belonging. They had a package of essential information prepared and readily assisted us with any additional requests, generously sharing insights and tips about the island. I also fell in love with their boxer, Ziva, who is an absolute sweetheart. We were immediately struck by the attention to detail and the overall quality of the accommodation, not to mention the delightful welcome box that included a great Portuguese wine. The spaciousness of the place allowed us to move freely and comfortably, providing a sense of relaxation throughout our stay. The breakfasts provided were truly lovely- we had the pleasure of selecting our preferences each day. The ingredients used were sourced from local shops, farmers, and even neighbors, ensuring a fresh and delightful culinary experience. The presentation of the breakfast spread was beautifully done. To top it off, my boyfriend was treated to a different specialty coffee each day. What made the breakfast experience even more memorable was the delightful company and engaging conversations we had with our hosts. Not to mention the joy of having Ziva assisting us every day. We thoroughly enjoyed starting our days in the company of our hosts, and it added an extra layer of enjoyment to our overall stay. Finding a place hosted at such a great level is not common, and it truly was a treat. However, what we cherish most is the opportunity to have met such remarkable people, and our hope to see them again goes beyond empty phrases. We wholeheartedly recommend Casa Vida Alegra, and it holds a special place in our hearts.

The house is great! Heated pool, ocean view, avocado tree just next to the door, paradise. The house has everything. Only thing we missed is the kitchen equipment, we love to cook, but I understand that Madeira offers great and reasonable restaurants. Isabelle ( owner ) and Fatima ( manager ) were both great, friendly and helpful. They bring us everything we wanted for our baby, craddle and chair. Dont be scared by Calheta, indeed is it one hour from the airport but this part of Island is one of the best is you love hikingy waterfalls and green lush nature. There was a big wildfire, but it is green again and the town was untouched. I truly recommend Casa Apagante with no doubt. Felt like home. Merci beacoup Isabelle. Josef, Petra et Damian
