Local buses regularly drive past, the bus stop a minute walk from the gate . We highly recommend walking across the nearby island to the other side. There's also shops up the hill behind, but the road is impressively steep, not a great thing in a thirty degree plus afternoon, but if you do there's a supermarket chocolate shop, maccas and plenty more. Impressive fireworks on Bastille day!
