I had the most amazing and relaxing stay at Casa Kolibri, better than I could have hoped (even judging by the overwhelmingly positive reviews that I read before coming). The house is divine, and the rooms gorgeously decorated. It’s set in the most gorgeous green surroundings, and the property has chickens, pigs, and the most incredible butterflies and birds. It is set on the edge of a lake which you can admire from the seating on the muelle, or go for a kayak with Maria’s kayak (probably the highlight of my trip). The natural pool is also lovely and not too cold, and the poolside loungers perfect for reading or relaxing. Maria was a gem, reaching out before my arrival to make sure everything was perfect, making the effort to speak in English with me, and even picking me up and dropping me back off at Pacho bus station for my bus to Bogotá. Ana was also incredible, she was so attentive the entire time, and made the nicest food (they happily made vegan food for me, which was some of the tastiest I have ever had here in Colombia). The incredible location and house, combined with Maria and Ana’s hospitality make this such a unique and enjoyable place to stay, I would recommend it to anyone and go back in a heartbeat! The cabaña is very clean, and very well built. The bed is comfortable and the hot tub and shower very warm and relaxing. The room has internet and tv if needed. Clemencia and Ricardo were great hosts. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and fresh. The property is a large area with many birds and is very tranquil. Clemencia took us on a tour of the farm and we got to pick some coffee berries for the experience. She laso helped us arrange food delivery and was very kind and caring. We were hot one night as we were not used to the humidity and so Ricardo brought us a fan and a large water jug for us. Easy to get to by bus and the town is walkable. Bear in mind the town is on a mountain so there's some walking to do to get to town (around 20 mins). We had a wonderful time at Hacienda Las Mercedes and the coffee was excellent. Would definitely stay here again!
