Great spot in a lovely village. Beautiful furniture and extremely well appointed. Fluffy towels and bathrobes. Dog made welcome with bowl, bed and toy. And we were made welcome with beer wine and a variety of things for breakfast. Host was very welcoming. Place to park car.

A very cozy lodge and beautiful surroundings. We spent three nights here after a long trip home from overseas. The lodge had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was so comfortable. And we had everything we needed to cater for ourselves day and night. Communication with the host was seamless and they were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We felt really looked after. Would highly recommend the gate Lodge. We didn’t get out to see much of the surrounding areas, but it was in a beautiful village with amenities close by. Would definitely stay again, thanks to Keith and Carrie for having us.

Tamara has nailed it, my other half said it's like your best mate has gone away for the weekend and let you stay at her place. Every room is decked out beautifully, we wanted for nothing and we were greeted with a big smile. Will definitely stay again if we are ever in that neck of the woods again.

Simply outstanding hosts. Lynne and Kev kept in touch both before and during our stay and did all they could to make our visit memorable. Small but compact apartment fully equipped with everything you could need for a six day stay and lots of little extras. We arrived to a cupboard and fridge full of items such as bread, milk, cereals and canned foods. Very thoughtful as the nearest shopping centre is about 5 miles away in Saffron Walden. Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows and like the rest of the house the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. Parking is handy, just outside the door and access to Cambridge and East Anglia is easy, although some side roads are challenging. Very quiet offering a great nights sleep and we felt very safe leaving windows open at night. Radwinter is a very small settlement and the locals are exceptionally welcoming. We spent one Saturday afternoon at the bowling club and were invited to a cream tea at the local church. A wonderful way to finish off our three month tour of the UK. The only possible addition we would have liked to see was a comprehensive compendium of the property with a bit of background on our hosts and the local community. Thank you for all your kindnesses Kev and Lynne.

    The cottage and surroundings were beautiful. Lovey gardens and a peaceful location overlooking fields. John and Joan were wonderful hosts and made us feel so comfortable and nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast was delicious and we just loved all the little personal touches in the room. We will definitely stay again but next time for longer.

    Loverly location and excellent facilities provided by our host. Breakfast package in the cottage included croissants, pastries, cereal, bread, milk, eggs, ham, etc. Fridge had wine, beer and a range supplied. Good view of local facilities, good places to eat in the village, pub was great with a good menu. Only stayed one night, we must go back for.

    It is in a beautiful location but very convenient for travelling. Everything that was needed for a comfortable stay was provided & the hosts were very welcoming. The breakfast supplies were very appetising with something to suit all tastes, the kitchen area was well equipped.

    A wonderful location to enjoy peace & beauty in the countryside. Self-service breakfast consisted of an excellent choice of cereals, fruit, cheese & ham, boiled eggs, coffee/tea etc. that could be eaten in a well-equipped ensuite kitchen/dining room or weather permitting, outside on the terrace. Good sized bedroom & bathroom, nicely decorated and very clean. Perfect!!

    Gorgeous little cottage in a peaceful environment. Spotlessly clean, and full of delightful surprises. The breakfast is ready in the kitchen, which was a wonderful solution, when had to leave at early hours to catch plane. 20 minutes from Stansted airport, it was a very convenient location.
