We had a fabulously gorgeous dinner at Hotel Husafell, and nice cocktail for happy hour. Dinner was memorable and the scenery is gorgeous. Stayed just one night but had a great stay.

The staff at A HOTEL were very friendly, and the breakfast was as delicious and plentiful as described by other guests. What amazed us the most was the hotel's dinner. When we checked in, the staff informed us that dinner was available for reservation. We ordered the fish fillet and lamb, both were very tasty and juicy, priced reasonably, and accompanied by delicious bread. It was the best value meal we've had in the past two weeks. Dining while looking at the views outside was very relaxing. They also have a small shop displaying beautiful wool products. Highly recommend A HOTEL.

This wonderful place will always remain to me the first place where we witnessed the northern lights. But apart from that, the guest home is homely and inviting, the rooms are cozy with a private sink for brushing teeth, and our host and hostess were very welcoming people. We can only recommend!

Berglind was awesome. She was so friendly and fun to talk with. We got to see her beautiful horses and walk around the property and she was very knowledgeable about the area and all things Icelandic. There's even a hot spring coming out of the river on her property. It was so fun to stay in the tower climb up and down the winding stairs and just admire how it was constructed. The view from the top is spectacular and a perfect place to have a glass of wine, admire the view and watch the horses. We were very fortunate to see the northern lights while there, even though it was August.

We were so tired from our travels but was warmly welcomed with a bowl of soup, and our spirits lifted immediately with good laugh and conversation. The host was so kind, accommodating, thoughtful and as we stayed at the Gai Baer on our last night in Iceland, completed our trip in the most magical way.

Wow, this house was stunning. Clean, modern, private. The location was far out in the west countryside away from the touristy south, which was our plan, but convenient to explore the west of Iceland from. Yes, we did see the northern lights!!! Even though its out there away from bigger towns, a 20 min drive brought us to restaurants if we chose. The house had a hot tub, which we utilized daily and it was wonderful to sit under the stars and talk about our day and what to do tomorrow. The kitchen had all you needed (we purchased wine in the duty free shop at the airport and shopped in Borgarnes prior to arriving at the chalet). We ate most breakfasts and cooked our evening meals from the Chalet. The complex was quiet and the Chalet very private, not to mention the views incredible. You can hike from the chalet or drive a bit and hike and explore other areas. We drove to the Snaefellsjokull peninsular, which you can do and drive back in a day, but that made a long day because we stopped alot, so we choose to stay 1 night in Stykkisholmur to break up the drive. Another day we went down R550 to 52 to thingvellir Nat'l Park and drove part of the golden circle and stayed the night in vik to explore that area (Vik's a very long drive from the Chalet BTW). Drove the rest of the circle on our way home. Again a great location to explore from. We highly recommend The Luxury Chalet. In addition to it being an amazing accommodation splitting the cost with others made this a very affordable place for a 2 week stay. We will be back one day! Thank you Luxury Chalet for making our 1st trip to Iceland memorable. If you don't mind driving Iceland we loved everything about the Chalet and the area it's located in.

An old farmhouse with a lot of charme, a very scenic location. Cozy and clean room with bathroom, a very family atmosphere and a very nice and friendly owner. In the evening there is a homemade soup for everyone, in the morning a typical Icelandic breakfast with home-baked bread, homemade waffles and many other things. There is also a hot pot behind the house. We felt very comfortable. We recommend.

The property location is wonderful. It is quintessential Iceland which is why so many artists have stayed there over the years. The main attraction is the heartfelt welcome from the host. His open table, hearty soup and fantastic waffles. The views from the hot tub are sensational. Accommodation is basic, comfortable and extremely clean. This isn’ a 5* hotel. Don’t expect room service or a spa.

We loved our stay here! As a coeliac vegetarian it is often hard to eat abroad, but the staff here catered to me exceptionally. I had a different meal all three nights and was made toast for breakfast. If you don't have my allergies, the breakfast buffet is definitely worth it. Lovely location, we had a car so could get out and about, but spent most evenings at the hotel as it's so nice. All staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean!
