We like everything about the house. We managed to see aurora during our stay at REY Stays - Great!!! Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean. Facilities are provided as advertised. Definitely will stay here if ever we come back to Hofn. Strongly recommended for anyone.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage by the sea. I call it a "cottage" because (in my mind) instead of an "apartment" it seems to describe this freestanding lodging (with no other lodging nearby) better to me. This two bedroom, living room, dinning/kitchen, bath (with washing machine) was perfect for the 3 of us. There was plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped for space. As you approach the cottage, the area looks a bit industrial but don't let that put you off. Once you see the sign "Apartment by the Sea" you feel like you are in a time gone by. The cottage offers privacy, with an unbelievable view of the sea dotted with islands. On a calm morning it is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. We even spotted a seal taking a morning swim. There are several lovely restaurants within walking distance and the town has some shops and walking trails to enjoy. This town doesn't feel touristy but rather authentic Iceland. The owner met us at the apartment with the key and answered our questions.....as he was at the shop next door.....that was a surprise bonus.... the owners also own and operate a lovely boutique shop connected to the cottage giving 20% discount to renters. The building is a historic fishing processing site and built to withstand the strong winds common in this area. There are pictures inside of the original use of the building...oh, what would those fishermen think now. We loved this town and this lodging and highly recommend it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Apotek Guesthouse in Hofn and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The accommodations at Apotek Guesthouse were outstanding. My room was impeccably clean and comfortable. The location of Apotek Guesthouse in Hofn is also a definite advantage. It's conveniently situated, providing easy access to the stunning natural beauty of the region. Furthermore, the guesthouse's communal areas were cozy and inviting, creating a wonderful space to relax, unwind, and connect with fellow travelers. It added a sense of camaraderie to the overall experience that I truly appreciated. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Apotek Guesthouse in Hofn.
