It was very clean and modern and the host even left us a little breakfast package with croissants and jams! Kitchen had cooking supplies and even olive oil and spices. Very peaceful neighborhood.

the apartment is cute, very clean and fully equipped. The village is also nice and located by the lake. I tried the restaurant and it was very good. The staff speaks English and French. Definitely a great place to stay.

On the one hand, selfishly, I would like to say that you shouldn’t come here (so that we’d still have the chance to return and book the apartment again – after what we’ve seen, the place will surely be fully booked all year round). But in truth, this is the most beautiful place we’ve ever visited with our family. Starting from the stunningly designed interiors (the décor was top-class, never overwhelming, yet immediately radiating quality and meticulous attention to every detail of the furnishings), to something I can only describe as a fairytale I had previously known only from paintings... I mean the surroundings. It’s something that is hard for me to put into words – views you can gaze at for days on end, each time noticing new details. Baluardo Apartments is something that even a perfect 10/10 Booking score cannot truly capture. It is a private paradise on earth. I loved my stay. As a solo traveler I always felt safe and assisted if I had any questions. If I had any questions I was supported and the staff went above and beyond during my stay. I would definitely come back and spend more time here. Great parking!

We stayed in Podere Castel Merlo Resort for only 2 nights. When driving on the driveway that leads to the hotel we were immediately impressed by the +1000 year old building and the surrounding vineyards, just beautiful. When checking in it’s immediately clear that the staff is really helpful with a great eye for detail. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and really clean. The breakfast is delicious and so is the dinner served by the restaurant. The hotel has lots of facilities like a pool, sun beds, gym,…. so you can easily spend a day there. It is also a vineyard, so a wine tour with tasting while staying there is a must in our opinion. The only thing we regret about this stay is not staying longer… we’ll definitely return for a long stay :)

    Super friendly owner and staff. The view of the Iseo lake from the room is stunning! Room was very clean and the bed and pillows are comfy. Katia helps a lot and also gave us some tips where to go for wine tasting, restaurants, taxi, etc. Definitely will come back next time we visit the Franciacorta region :).

    Fantastic location! Promenade is just outside the apartment and restaurant are just nearby. The 2 bedroom apartment is spotless and spacious! Edison the owner was very welcoming and accommodating. He showed us around the village and gave us a lot of information we need to go around Iseo. I would highly recommend Light on Lake Iseo. We will definitely come back here!
