Staying at Anna's place exceeded my expectations in every way! We stayed in the comfortable, spacious and beautiful 2 bedroom apartment that overlooked a beautiful private garden. The beds, pillows and linens were the best we had during our tour of Italy! The town of Mandello di Lario was perfectly tourist free when we visited in May 2023, and had several excellent restaurants. We enjoyed the quaint little bakery (with the BEST canolis ever) within a 1 minute walk, the lakeshore within a 3 minute walk, and the best pizza we tried in Italy within a 3 minute walk. We relied solely on public transportation during our entire stay. Varenna is a 15 minute train ride away, where we caught the ferry to Bellagio, Mennagio Trezzemo. Anna herself is a gracious hostess who anticipated and granted our every need. This is an exceptional find for those looking to experience lago di como as a local and escape the tourists! We hope to be back soon!

The balcony view is amazing and the apartment has absolutely everything you need. There’s a sidewalk on the road the apartment is on that takes you all the way into town in 20 or so minutes so it’s actually quite easy to not have a car. There’s also a bus stop 5 min away. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful and I’m so grateful for their hospitality. They were eager to help with anything, including recommendations, and it made the stay lovely.

    Ideal bed and breakfast hosts! They provided everything I needed for my stay while I was attending a conference in Varenna, e.g. umbrellas to borrow and advice on how to get the best value train tickets. Wonderful breakfast every day on the patio in their beautiful garden. The room was spotless and had good A/C, and the BnB is in a perfect location near the train station in the center of town.

    The location is great, right in the centre of Mandello. Only 2 minutes walk to the ferry pier and around 5 mins to Lido. Here you can take 1 hour pleasant ferry ride to Bellagio or 10 mins train to Varenna. It’s a good town to enjoy quite lake life and friendly neighbourhood. The Casa itself is very clean, well decorated and comfy. The host Franco is very nice to pick us up from the train station. We definitely recommend this and stay again!

    Massimo’s B&B was the perfect location - so close to the station so it was very convenient for when we took day trips to Milan or wanted to do ferry trips around the lake. The B&B was very clean and easy to find on arrival. We have no complaints and would definitely stay here again!

    I can’t fault the property itself. Very well decorated, and well thought out. It was very clean and staff was welcoming. The only thing I could fault is the location. Nearby restaurants seemed to close early and last boat back from bellagio/ varenna was early too.
