As soon as you walk through the door, it feels like you stepped back in time and could experience a traditional home that is over 100 years old. The location is ideal, as you step outside and you are in an area of similar style houses. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, which enhanced the stay.

Oka-san is very nice!😍 She welcomes me to Japan with watching Ukai. We also have Japanese style breakfast together and the chawanmushi is OISHIIII. Niku Jaga is alsoo very delicious🥰🥰 And I could take a relaxing warm bath after a long day, it's super refreshing. Oka-san is such a lovely lady. Please stay healthy. I'll come back after my Japanese has improved😁

Such a novelty having a sauna in our room and being able to go from bath tub to sauna freely. The room was really modern with a good sized fridge and freezer. Plenty of towels were provided and they were soft and fluffy. A bonus was the 5pm happy (read free) hour drinks in the little bar area. There was also a roof top with olive trees and lounges that allowed us to see both the sunset and the moonrise over Mt Kinka. The location was excellent. Just a short walk from the entrance to Yana Gasse and across the road from Kashimori park and the entrance to Mt Kinka Observation deck. You could also hire bikes from there. We loved it all.

I had a truly wonderful experience staying here. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The house itself is amazing — spotlessly clean, well-organized, and full of charm, with a lovely little garden that adds such a peaceful touch. It has everything you could possibly need, and the location is convenient — just a short walk from nishi-kani station, and not too far from Nagoya. I genuinely felt at home during my stay, and I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone. I’d love to come back again, and I encourage others to stay here too.

The rooms are comfortable and equipped with a bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face/hand soap), face and body towels, clothes hangers, yukata, a kettle with free tea, and a mini-fridge. I really enjoyed the bath on 1F though I was sad it wasn’t open past midnight (open 16:00-24:00 + 6:30-9:00, equipped with same conditioner, shampoo, body wash, face/hand soap, plus lotion, lockers don’t require coins). The breakfast (6:30-9:00, last refill 8:30) was also fantastic with a great variety of food and drinks.

Honestly, I expected discrimination since the hotel was quite far from tourist attractions. Unsurprisingly, there were only Japanese guests as far as we could tell. However, the receptionists were all extremely helpful, professional, and friendly above all. I am from Taiwan and can only speak broken Japanese, yet they didn't treat me differently at all during my stay: unlike some of the restaurant and hotel staff members I had unfortunately encountered elsewhere despite trying not to speak English. Here's the icing on the cake. My wife accidentally forgot a personal item that her late father had left her, because I got the checkout time wrong and had to leave in a hurry. I immediately contacted the hotel, but we were already in a different city far from Gifu. They offered to send the item to our next destination free of charge even though I insisted on paying. I must say the staff was far more professional than some of the staffs of a few expensive, traditional onsen ryokan places we stayed in. Thank you, Hotel Route Inn Ginan Kokudo 21! 誠にありがとうございました！
