The property is set amongst a large farm, by a river, set back from the main road The pool was lovely and we were able to watch the birds & bats at sunset from the water and later see the fireflies over the lily pond! The hosts are very friendly, our first home stay experience and they even cooked an evening meal for us which was absolutely delicious - as was breakfast! Our first milk rice in Sri Lanka :) We unfortunately had to leave the following day due to our schedule and they helped us get our tuktuk going and helped me pick a few stones from our tyre tread :) We couldn’t recommend this place enough if you are passing through Kurunegala

This is the second time I stayed in this place. As usual, I find this place is safe and private, clean,safe and welcoming. It is good value for money. Also easier for travel arrangement to get done. The host is helpful if you need further assistance, help, preparation.

We have truly loved our stay in this lovely place. Beautiful landscape, quiet location, fantastic meals, comfortable and clean rooms, and everything about the place is simply amazing. Either the hotel has meanwhile improved or others were just unlucky, but we didn’t experience any of the negative aspects mentioned in the comments. We had a brand new refurbished and very clean room with touch screens, air-con was working perfectly. The pool is very clean, we spent several hours in there. Breakfast buffet has a large choice (both western and Sri Lanka) with great quality. We also went for the diner buffet, wich also offered excellent food at a reasonable price (6000 rupies for two persons except drinks). The hotel lies in walking distance from the train station on a main road, but our room headed to the inner court with the swimming pool and we could not hear any traffic. I can’t say anything about the TV program as I’m not staying in hotels to watch TV.

What a find this was. Clean modern rooms in beautiful surroundings with a lovely pool. This is the definition of a hidden gem. You simply must eat here in the evening, the food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and generous portions. We saw a wine store as we drove in ( less than 5 mins drive for those interested), when we asked about available drinks the manager offered to drive and get what we wanted. Breakfast was lovely and they even bought a fridge to our room for us to use. There are sun beds and tables and chairs in the grounds so we spent the evening sitting out watching the sun go down over the paddy fields, simply beautiful. If you are looking for somewhere fabulous to stay between Negombo and Sigiria. Look no further. You won’t find better.

This fantastic hotel is set in the middle of nature. If you like seeing and hearing birds, then this place is great, with over 25 species in 1 night stay. The room was large, the linens were high quality, and it was all very clean. We had a kettle for making coffee, good AC, and fan. We had a room with a great view over the garden towards the lake. The owner, Chandana, was very friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is very well decorated and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting to watch the wildlife at sunset on the bench provided. The garden is also a haven for wildlife and has a lot of interesting trees. He provided us with the best Sri Lankan breakfast we have had in a month. It was outstanding, with some of it made by his wife. Him and his staff member were very kind to help us change the wheel on our tuktuk, too. A wonderful place to stay. We stayed for a halfway point between Kandy and Negombo

    Silver Hill exceeded our expectations, so we extended our stay to 6 nights. The food is remarkable, making it the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka and the ideal spot to experience the country's cuisine and nature. The cocktails were so tasty we had one with every meal. Highly recommend this place. The price is very reasonable, offering an authentic experience without the hustle and bustle of tourist areas.

    The loft was beyond expectations. A simple, rustic but comfortable and lovely place. The view from the lodge and the surroundings was beautiful. No AC, but who needs AC when there's a cool breeze that can literally blow you away all day long? Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The staff is amazing. Lovely food. Awesome location. We are already missing the lovely breeze... Highly Recommended
