Moran and his family were very lovely. It was just like being at home, with shared kitchen and dining facilities. Comfy bed and nice hot shower. They even went out to get us our takeaway dinner and served it up to us.

This is a great place to stay if your traveling between cities and need a place to stop for a night. Its surrounded by tea plantations and a waterfall so plenty to see in the surrounding areas too. The owners were so lovely and fed us well. The room is probably the nicest one we've stayed in during our sri lanka trip. The views are amazing!

Nothing bad. But it would be nice if you mentioned that the facility charges extra for kitchen equipment and gas. Also, it would be nice if you put up a menu with information that we can buy food from you. That would be good for your business. Otherwise, they will unknowingly bring food to make food. Thank you. We had an amazing experience staying at Barnes Cottage in Nuwara Eliya. The location was perfect—peaceful and scenic, just a short distance from Lovers Leap Waterfall and around 8–10 minutes from Nuwara Eliya town. Horton Plains was also conveniently nearby, which made our hiking plans easy. The host was incredibly caring and friendly—we felt truly looked after throughout our stay. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and came with a lovely wooden fireplace that added such a cozy touch, especially during the cold weather. A special thanks to the host for going above and beyond when my girlfriend twisted her leg while hiking in Horton Plains. It was raining heavily and freezing cold that day, and the host kindly helped us by lighting up the fireplace and making the room warm and comfortable for her to rest and recover. That level of care meant a lot to us. Overall, I would highly recommend Barnes Cottage to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya. The hospitality, location, and comfort make it a place worth returning to!

first time we felt like (real) home while traveling in sri lanka for 3 weeks 🥹! the villa is so cozy and beautifully decorated. we had everything needed and beyond! it was spotlessly clean (everywhere!), the bed was amazing. so many amenities…! located at the top of a hill in an incredible area… now we understand the previous reviews! the owner as well as their family were super nice and the host/manager Surenga who takes care of the villa. he is a tuktuk driver and helped us drop to the city multiple times and also organized a tour to a tea factory and the waterfalls. recommend doing this with him! overall amazing value for money. we didn’t want to leave.
