Family-run since 1654, Hotel-Gasthof Maria Plain enjoys a quiet location surrounded by meadows and forests, only 250 metres from the pilgrimage church of Maria Plain and a 10-minute drive from Salzburg. A wonderful hotel located on a peaceful, quiet hill overlooking Salzburg, meaning you get an absolutely amazing view of the city and the mountains in the background, especially in the morning and evening. The room was exceptionally clean and nice, with a walk-in shower in the bathroom (personally love this) and a comfortable bed. High praise for the breakfast and the friendly staff who spoke English which is often times uncommon in Austria. This will be my first choice for any future stays in Salzburg (the only downside is the location is less accessible if you don't have a car).
