The owners were so nice and friendly. It is a small place decorated with taste, even the rooms, lots of local things around remind you where you are. The breakfast is incredible as they change every day so it doesn’t get boring ;-). The tables in wood are like local boats. What a great idea !!! The guest are really international and it’s easy to get in touch with other people. They have a dog and a cat but very brave and discreet. It’s very close to the beach, restaurants etc The staff is also top and they always smile. There’s no need to look for another place if you come to Nungwi: Babalao is where you should stay.

This place really exceeded my expectations. The beds were super comfy, with great privacy. It almost makes you forget you’re actually sleeping in a dorm. The pool area is lovely — perfect for a refreshing dip after a day at the beach — and the food was genuinely great, which isn’t something you can always say for hostels.

Stayed for 1 night only... sadly – should have booked more. The place is peaceful and right on a calm stretch of beach. Staff was chill, no stress. No loud music, just waves.
