Abu and Lucky were the friendliest people we met during our stay, we felt like home. You need anything, and the staff will help you! The place is really not far from the beach, and there is a nice swimming pool in case of low tide. You can also play pool and have some cold beers. The breakfast is giant :)

As the name implies "dream" place. More than a hotel! felt like visiting family. Not our first time to stay at Zanzibar Dream Lodge, and definitely not the last! Kassim and staff always had time for a good chat and were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Helping with all needs and trips to the must see/do places and the hidden gems in Zanzibar. Our room was nice and clean, and enjoyed a break in a cool room after long, warm day. And also liked the beautiful outside areas. Zanzibar Dream Lodge is a very nice, chill, quiet and relaxing place. Attended a swahili food course. Fun, cosy and gave a further understanding of the Zanzibari-culture. Otherwise enjoyed amazing food from their restaurant.

Breakfast was served on the porch, which was nice. The host made sure everything was okay. The beach was a walking distance from the place.

This place is amazing. Super friendly staff, incredible design and vibe, and overal just a great lodge for a very fair price!

I could honestly write a 10-page article in praise of Shanuo. Firstly, yes. It’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures would have you believe. (With that said, there’s no way to truly capture the beauty of this place through a camera lens. You just have to go there to see that for yourself). Surrounded by coconut trees and brightly coloured tropical flowers, the bungalows overlook the Indian Ocean - a morning dip is a must! My room was clean and comfortable and I was provided with everything I might need during my stay. Although Shanuo doesn’t have its own restaurant, I can honestly say this has no impact on your stay at all. The breakfasts are generous and Shanuo provides drinks and snacks (at a small fee) if you’re feeling peckish. There are several neighbouring properties along the beach with restaurants. I promise you won’t go hungry! Secondly, the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a friendly smile and an enthusiastic “Jambo” 100% of the time. If you need anything, you just need to look up and someone is there to assist. A big thank you to everyone at Shanuo, but especially to Na who brought my breakfast every morning and who I had lovely chats with, to Daniel who cut copious amounts of fresh aloe vera to tend my sun burn, and of course to the manager, Gillian, who is energetic, friendly and builds meaningful connections with her guests which she uses to tailor her travel tips especially to your needs. This team creates an atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you’re ‘coming home’. There’s so much more that I could say, but anyone reading this will begin to think I’m exaggerating. I’m really not. Do yourself a favour and just book! I’ll certainly be coming back here on my next Zanzibar adventure.

It was easy to find. I got there by bus and the stop was by the road that leads to the property. It’s beautiful. It has lots of seats for anyone interested in seating outside and read a book or simply work on your computer. And for animal lovers there are cats around that you can pet and a few friendly dogs. It is quite safe and right by the beach it looks really lovely at night with all the stars out.

The staff really want the extra mile in terms of organizing your activities for us, making sure that we feel comfortable and welcome. This is the best place on Zanzibar with magnificent views of the lush, tropical jungle overlooking baobab trees, and with amazing sounds of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife you will not find a better experience on Zanzibar

We stayed at the best place in Kizimkazi village! Yasmin was amazing – she took care of everything for us, from organizing tours to making sure we didn’t miss the whales. It’s definitely worth asking her about anything you need. The house is cozy and pampering. In the mornings, we ordered delicious breakfast from Yasmin’s restaurant. We felt completely safe – there’s a guard on-site 24/7. The house is surrounded by forest, and the moment you enter the path leading to it, it feels like stepping into a fairytale. No doubt we’ll be coming back at the end of our trip. Thanks to the whole team – and big thanks to Mama Yasmin!

For us nature-lovers, this was a dream accomodation, surrounded by nice forest with lots of birds, monkeys, bushbabies etc. The entrance of the national park is only 200 m away. The room was prepared very nicely with flowers on the bed etc. Hotel staff were extremely nice, calm and very helpful. We tried several local items on the menu in the restaurant, and we simply LOVED the food, which was excellent and reasonably priced. If you dine there, you must try the swahili selection!
