Staff, facilities and food exceeded our expectations. The resort was truly impressive. The rooms were fantastic and the communal areas excellent. The game rangers were brilliant and the amount of very close big 5 viewings was extraordinary. Seeing a cheetah mum and her cub was the highlight, but the volume of game within Thanda makes it a great place to see lots of animals very close up.

The rooms are impeccably clean, and the beds are new and incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful stay after a day of adventure. One of the standout features of Balaya is the game drives. They are truly special, offering an intimate glimpse into the wild. The passion and dedication of the rangers shine through in every drive. Their knowledge about the animals and the land, combined with genuine care for your experience, elevates each safari into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. During this visit, we even witnessed lions in their natural habitat—hunting and yes, killing. While such scenes might not be everyone’s cup of tea, for me, it was an awe-inspiring, raw demonstration of nature's realities. It's experiences like these that remind you of the wild’s unfiltered beauty and power. Overall, Balaya Game Resort delivers on every front. The friendly staff, the comfortable accommodations, and the exceptional game drives make it one of the best experiences I’ve had.
