Amazing experience!
Probably the most unique and beautiful places I have ever had the fortune to stay. Silk sand and crystal clear water!
Sook Peng and Fred are wonderful and kind hosts who help to ensure a brilliant stay.
They help to organize all the travel arrangements from your lodgings in Kota Kinabalu to the island via car and boat, and it all worked seamlessly.
The food that Sook Peng cooked was simply fantastic and some of the best I have had during my whole trip.
The lodge is very unique and they take their environmental responsibility very seriously.
Staying on the island is a once in a lifetime experience. It’s completely deserted apart from a small village and there are lots of different activities one can do. (Kayak, snorkel, diving, guided walks).
We did bonfires at night and spent the days in hammocks just meters from the beach as the local island cows wandered past.

Bilit
Accessible only via a 600-step staircase, the property is located adjacent to the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve. Guests will have access to some of Sabah's most unique wildlife. Boat cruises and jungle-trekking activities are included in every stay. This place is really amazing. We searched a lot to choose the right package for Kinabatangan River and this was really the best choice. Such friendly and helpful staff, we felt so welcome. There are only a few rooms, no big tourism and that's why you feel so comfortable here. (Don't be put off by the stairs, they are easy to climb). Every dish was delicious (even vegetarian at my special request) and the banana pancakes with caramel sauce? OMG the best pancakes we've ever had! The river cruises were very relaxing and we saw all the animals (monkeys, crocodiles, hornbills, elephants). We even had an orangutan outside our room visible from our window! We had an unforgettable experience here. Thank you very much Gert and the team, you are doing an excellent job.

Amazing view with balcony overlooking southern mountains and hills from my room. Tidy & clean, with a decent restaurant on-site so not necessary to drive out to eat. Toiletries are sufficient. Thoughtful details in the room. Pleasantly surprised to find this in such a location.
Kinabatangan
Situated in Kinabatangan in the Sabah region, Borneo Jungle Adventure features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.
Sandakan Airport is 119 km from the property, and the property offers a free airport shuttle service.
We came to see Orang Utangs in the wild, wishing not to disturb them in their homes and approach passively.
We got so much more. This camp is privately run by someone who keeps it natural rainforest and doesn't sell to someone making a palm oil farm from it. The people in this camp TRULY care about the rainforest, the animals, and their visitors. Main woman Linda makes sure you have absolutely everything you need at all times. Of course, you are in the middle of the jungle, so wifi only in the common area (but there is wifi in the middle of the jungle!) and there is no jaccuzi. But once you're over that it is 100% perfection!
A true rural jungle experience!
We stayed 3 nights and already saw the big 5 the second day!
Food was plenty, very very delicious with seafood and meat/ chicken/ and really exciting vegetarian options too!

Beautiful place in a great location. We liked the chalet as well as the garden and really enjoyed the walk up to have breakfast in the nearby hotel.
The absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable chalets, the tranquil natural setting with wild birds and other animals to watch, the fig trees growing around the wooden walkways, the food, the ideal proximity to the Orangutan and Sunbear rehabilitation centres!
The location, view on the jungle. Quiet, nice wooden bungalows Free shuttle to Orang utans sanctuary and Rainforest Discovery Centre. Terrace overlooking the jungle
Customer services are good. I appreciate that they provide a shutter van to the mall. Upon request, they arrange a shutter for me to the airport. As a solo traveller, it is helpful to provide such services for me.
It has free shuttle to and from the jetty which is a bonus. Rooms are big and has a balcony. Breakfast is good with adequate varieties. The breakfast room is on the top floor and offers a good view of the city. The staff try their best to please us.
I had a really nice stay at Paganakan Dii. The staff were incredible friendly and always ready to help. You can book tours with them. Three times a day there is a free shuttle bus to Sepilok. The food there is really good and they also offer vegetarian options.
I had the whole dorm for me alone. Nice big wooden longhouse with mosquito nets. Basic but good. The food they serve is also nice and the have free shuttle busses to sepilok conservation centre. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.
Immerged in the nature, beautiful wooden platform with a stunning view of the rainforest from where I could spot a couple of hornbills. Good food and acceptable prices, water dispenser. Helpful staff. Useful free shuttle 2/3 times a day to go and back from/to Sepilok rehab centres (orangutans and sunbears).
