Zur Alten Mine is situated 5 km outside of Graskop. Guests can walk around the dam in the gardens or hike up to the old mine.

The tastefully decorated chalets are fully equipped and some of them offer views. Each unit comes with a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. After a very warm reception, we went to our room which was exceptional in every aspect (special mention to the heating blanket against the cold). The place is calm and beautiful, next to graskop for restaurant and to some of the most famous places in the region. The optional breakfast is a must try, and we had some very useful insights from our host about the region, what road to take... I would gladly come back in the future, thanks for eveything :)

I felt very safe and secure there. A delightful bonus was seeing giraffe feeding on the trees so close to the walking path just steps from the guest house door! I also saw a warthog and some impala very nearby the place as well. It was a lovely experience staying here! I loved sitting on the porch watching the sunset and hearing the birds singing in the mornings! The hosts Zelda and George were very kind and made sure I found the place alright. They were also very responsive to my questions and concerns.

The lodge was clean and beautiful, the food was delicious and everyone working there was beyond kind. Even more exceptional were the animals walking right through the property, the ease of booking a safari tour through the lodge, and proximity to Kruger.

We loved that you can do safari drives in both the Kruger national park, which is huge, and the Sabi Sands that is more intimate and you can get a little closer to the animals. The staff make this place amazing, all so kind and accommodating. We loved our guide Percy who really went above and beyond on our drives, and Matt who was really accommodating, plus all other staff (too many to mention). The food was great, all meals. The tents are nicer than expected with really comfortable, large beds, air con and a good shower/bathroom. The pool area is also really nice and they are building a second. Overall really great value and the perfect safari experience. We hope to return again!

Nicolette and Matthew have put thought and love into so many small details that make their place charming, romantic, and perfect. The breakfast and dinners were all well presented, abundant and delicious. Nicolette also introduced us to a fantastic game drive guide, Christelle. We would not hesitate to send any of our friends and family here! We researched so many place in and around Marloth Park. If you’re looking at this property, book it! You won’t regret it.
