A stunning area in Austria, we stayed for 1 week for the skiing season which was perfect. We also thought that it would be a wonderful place to visit and stay, in Pension Rainer, for a walking holiday. The facilities, bars, cafes and restaurants were fantastic and everyone we met without exception were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Ellmau is a nice village in the Brixental, with direct connection to the mountains. Nice place for skiing if there is snow enough. Later in the spring time they do the best to keep the slopes in a good condition and Skiwelt is a large area, so it's not difficult to find good slopes for skiing. Only when it is warm weather in the winter and many people comes (typically on Saturdays when many people from Munich comes here for one day skiing) then in the afternoon the condions for skiing are not so good like in the morning, it can be felt that the altitude of Skiwelt is not very high. Very good and nice restaurants everywhere for some lunch during the skiing day. We were satisfied with our family skiing stay.Guest review byHynekCzech Republic

The apartment was spotless, the host was friendly the rooms were comfortable. There was everything we needed in the bathrooms and in the kitchen. There were no microwave oven, but we used the cooker. There were two balconies in the apartment and the views were spectacular. We went skiing and it was easy to get to the ski lifts on foot or by bus (the bus was free and went really often). The kitchen is really fully equipped- pans and potts, enough glasses etc.. nothing broken or old. It was possible to get to the slope in about 30m walking across a field/meadow,that is usually covered with snow (so you could directly ski from the appt), but there was not enough snow, so you had to walka few meters.
